I currently work for an indirect location, was offered a position with vzw corporate inside of circuit city at a kiosk. How do these stores usually stack up in sales vs. a full corporate store? Any advice or stats would be appreciated!

I started with Verizon at a CCity kiosk part time. It is a great place to work. Working at the kiosk is a fast path into management. The money all depends on what the quota is. I would sell between 30 and 40 phones a month part time and make 2 to 3k commission checks and that was at a slower kiosk.

You just need to be proactive. Most of the time the customers don't come to you. you need to go out and find them.

I spent a ton of time setting up appointments by calling them to come to the store to upgrade. Once they are there I would attempt to add lines. When there were people in laptops, I would be selling aircards. Go where the people are.

Quotas at kiosks are dramatically lower versus the big stores and the payouts ar...

Just curious.......where about do you live? How is the service where you are? Is it a kiosk or gondola. Where I started it started off as a gondola but we later got a big kiosk. once we got the kiosk numbers sky rocketed. I made 7k that month

well that was not an average month. my quota was only 24......or around that and I sold 96 lines. the kiosk did almost 200 that month. my target dollars were only 1250. Normally they take 50% of every dollar after you hit 200 percent target dollars since my quota was less than 50 new lines. But since I did so well, my DM got involved and it went all the way to top but was paid 7k in commission. Again it was not a typical situation and I did close a 30 line business deal.

At the end of the month i had 3558 in commission dollars and a 2.0 multiplier.

I live in Washington State. The service is great Verizon is the best all over the state. The Circuit City location is an actual kiosk. There will be 5 sales consultants & one manager. Your advice has been great I look forward to start my training even though most of it I already know since working for an indirect for a year & a half.

you are gonna love it. great pay and benefits. training was awesome. I had to drive 200 miles because at the time they did not have a trainer in my area. I was put up in a hotel suite with jacuzzi for 3 weeks with a $50 per diem and I got mileage too.

Good times.

This is a little off topic but how many interviews and how long did it take for Verizon Wireless to offer you the position? I had a phone interview with human resources last Monday. They told me that I would move on to a face to face interview with the Manager, and he/she would be contacting me to set the interview up. I still have not heard anything. The position is for a customer support rep.

Just remember STARs.

Situation/Task
Action
Results

They like that kind of process.

List a situation or task, what did you do, and what was the result/outcome.

I did face to face, then telephone interview with H/R.

I applied in Feb of 05, interviewed in July, started in Septemeber. But not everone takes that lone.

Best of luck.

The phone interview with H.R. last Monday was questions exactly like that. The person interviewing me stated I did a great job and I was moving on to the next step of face to face interview. H.R. told me the salary and a lot of other details which I was surprised they did. They also said they were going to move fast with a decision because the next training was going to start the first week of February. I really thought I had a good chance, but now I am doubting since I have not got the call for a face to face interview.

the kiosks offer better insight into the business. lower quotas/higher payouts. plus you learn to rely on yourself for things that other people do for you in the regular store. in a kiosk, you are a keyholder. you have access to stuff that regular store reps are clueless about. I love the kiosk environment. Except for the boreddom sometimes.

Yeah. CCity is circling the drain big time. The posted a 3rd quarter loss of 200 million. But if they tank, maybe they will move the kiosks to best buy.

So true Bonito, I think Retail sales peeps( me) are moving closer and closer to just being clerks, the next generation cell users already know what they want, the specs on the device, and where to get it the cheapest at which is not at the retail stores lol. Can you imagine a drive-thru cell phone store where commissioned sales reps are a thing of the past 😲 😲

Methinks you grossly overestimate the intelligence of the general populace out there. The stupid procreate every day. If you want to see them in action, watch a couple of episodes of "COPS" on TV.
