i am switching from a 39.99 a month plan to one the will up my monthly bill to about sixty a month. a friend told me that now i will be eligible for a upgraded phone discount every year. but at only fifty off instead of new every two's hundred off. so is this true. I'm not planning on switching phones soon but still would like to know. {voyager does look pretty sweet!} any info would be great!

Yeah, you can upgrade early if you're on the sixty dollar plan. I have a question though. Is the $39.99 plan working well for you? Because you could also set aside $20/month with the idea of purchasing a new phone and get a better deal on a phone. I wouldn't change the plan unless you're going over your minutes or text or something.

from what I understand, you would not be eligible for the extra $50 off; just the contract price. that said, Rob was correct; the offset of saving $20 plus tax a month would help much more with the price of a new phone than upgrading the plan for a small offset.

This is the long and short of it.

Verizon has an Annual Upgrade Program. It allows anyone one that is billed 49.99 or higher on their line of service to upgrade 12 months from the last time they got a discount on a new device, not a FRU or phone exchange. You will have to sign a new 2 year contract and you do not qualify for a new every two credit. You do get the standard 2 year price on the new equipment plus a $20 early upgrade fee.(Merits customers and high tier customers, the fee is waived.) It resets the eligiblity of your next upgrade and ne2 credit to 20 months from the day you do the upgrade.

If you change your plan and you have a $100 ne2 credit on your plan and you move to another plan your ne2 credit might be reduced to...
