6800 Finally Out

I think Engadget says it best, please read the users comments. I have been waiting to switch from Alltel, but after waiting so long I am just not excited about it anymore. I always hear the best phones (ATT) vs. best network (Verizon). Why can't Verizon have the best network and better phones? It isn't like they are giving them away for free.

What you really should be asking is "why did it take the manufacturer a year to fix al the bugs VZW kept kicking this phone back for. This phone failed testing repeatedly. THAT's why it's over a year old.

I am not excited because it doesn't seem to be more than a thinner version of my 6700. I am going to check it out this weekend at the store if it is in stock. Let you know what I think. Too bad the tilt isn't available.

the fact that it can handle 8G mem card is hot, the sprint version is a pain.. just for it to recognize the mem card you gotta shut down the phone insert the HC card then turn it on. im positive it wont happen with vzw version.

A year old? Which carrier had it 12 months ago? You mean it was mentioned or talked about 12 months ago? Yeah that typically happens.

I tried to order one through the website and it wont let me select a "no monthly charge" data plan. Forces you to select the "Unlimited Data" plan. Even when I select nothing, a warning comes up and says "You must select a data plan, you can select the one without a monthly charge" but no option exists!! Mad Confused

I don't know what gives there, but I've been wanting this phone for some time, but I don't want to pay a fortune every month for data I'm not going to use.

How do I get around this??

Just add the feature at the time of the order.. then when you call to activate it.. Just request to have the Pay-as-u-go feature added.. 😉

You can't get around it online. When you order it online, you have to attach a data plan to it. Just do it and when you get the phone in the mail call customer service and drop it. The only way around it....you won't get any kind of charge back or anything. only way to get the onlie price for it.....
