Good morning to all. I have a question for you all Verizon knowledgeable people.
My contract expired back in March and I have not renew contract for the fact that I have not been pleased with the GUI. I know thats a lame excuse but I still do like Verizon, but I am also one of those that I like to learn something new from today's technology even if its a cell phone and their GUI.

Recently, a Verizon rep called me; asking if I wanted to renew my contract and if I did then Verizon would give me a 100 minutes on top of my 450 any time minutes. I only use my cell phone to make calls and text messeging and pictures...I don't need all that mambo jumbo of tv, internet, ringtones and all. I don't have use for all of that.

I would be interest...

Well Jack, You would lose your 100 bonus minutes if you buy the voyager at full retail because then you wouldn't be renewing your contract. If you did renew, then you could get the voyager at a discounted price plus the bonus 100 minutes. You're in a good position, wait until after thanksgiving, they'll call you back, when they do try to negotiate more minutes or more money off a phone you really want.

Since you are renewing your contract for the bonus minutes, take advantage of your new every 2 credit. But buying a phone at full retail will not extend your contract. Only upgrading your phone or asking to change your plan will extend your contract.

In order to receive any bonus minute promo, you must renew your contract. Once in cotract, anytime you change you plan it will not renew the contract.

You can renew your contract by just rec'ving the 100 bonus min. But request the 1000 min overage protection plan. That will put you in a 1yr contract and give you 1000 min to use if you go over your 450 plan 1 month. The min are avail for 1 yr but if need be you can use them up in 6 months. If there's a phone your interested in and you agree to a 2 yr contract you can get the 2000 bm for 2 yrs. works same way. Upgrade phone and agree to 2 yr contract. Get new phone and 2000 min for those unexpected months where you go over your allowance for up to 2yrs. If you upgrade you most likely qualify for ne2 discount too. So you can take ne2 credit and mail in rebate (if avail) off 2yr price of phone and sometimes upgrade for free.
