Is NE2 Worth It? Need Help

EMAC

Sep 9, 2007, 1:54 AM
I have a question, im tired of my phone i was wondering whether i should really wait for the NE2? Im on a family plan with my sister and she wants to get a new phone too only that i have then main phone n so she dosent get a NE2 so i always have to give her $50 off my $100 from NE2 so is it really worth it for me to wait about one more year just to get $50 off a new phone?? Also what if i dont wait would i have to pay early termination fee to just get started on a new two year contract just cuz i want to get a new phone?

based on what you have said you are probably eligable for annual upgrade(or will be soon). you can get a new phone at 2yr promo pricing with a new 2 yr contract with a possible 20$ early upgrade fee.

no there is no ETF for upgrading.

Not annual, but every two years.

It is annual and based off the last time you purchased a phone at the 2yr price.

Purch date 09/10/2006
Annual upgr date 09/10/2007
NE2 (w/ new 20 mo date) 07/10/08

Needless to say, using your annual upgr will reset your ne2 for 20mo later.

well that sucks. But yet they make you sign a contract on the 2nd line huh. One thing I will give sprint then. they give it to you on all lines on the account!

As I stated you get 75 off a phone after 12 months or 150 after 2 years. On any phone on your account. So if you have 5 phones each one after you had that number activated can get the money off a new phone.

Is that price off their 2 year contract pricing? If so, they're going to go bankrupt soon...

If you have a 20 month NE2, over that period, a $9.99 share line takes in $199.80 in profit, which is supposed to cover things like paying employees' wages, maintaining the network, and make back the $100-$275 that a phone is discounted on a 2 year contract. That would mean that Sprint, assuming their phone deals are similar to ours (they are), if they offer this $150 off on a secondary line, in addition to 2 year contract pricing (I believe that the $150 off -is- the 2 year pricing, which VZW offers to all lines, with an ADDITIONAL $100 off the primary)... here's their profit on a secondary line: $199.80 - $150 - $150 = $-100. 🤣

There's ...

What are you talking about? Sprint doesn't give you a 2nd discount even on the Primary line.

yes they do. If you have the same phone for 1 year they give you 75. If you have it for 2 they give you 150. And i got it on both the primary and the second line which was free per month.

So yes they do give you a discount on both lines or if you have 4 lines they do to. Just have to renew your contract for that line!

That's the first discount wombough. Verizon gives you $150-$200 plus another $50/$100 discount.

That's what I meant by SECOND discount. Sprint? I see no SECOND discount for any lines.

I will take 150 for all lines on an account any day over 2 discounts for one line is my point.

ofcourse you would because you are a sprint fan and a verizon hater.

whos customers are renewing more? wonder why that is.

You moron, all lines get $120-$275 off the cost of the phone for a new 2 year contract once they are eligible to upgrade.

The primary lines get $220-$375 off. There's absolutely no way you can swing this into Sprint being better. What's next: "Sprint pays half of my roaming charges, and VZW won't help at all!" 🤣

I love the level of maturity you display.

Roaming if its free why would they pay for all of it not just half as verizon does.

I never said I knew they were better as I asked how it worked and from what I got originally it was batter. Now I am starting to see.

Grow up we all can't be as great as you.

Well, they're actually not.

You can upgrade every 20 months.

If you have monthly access $34.99 or higher, you can get a credit of $50 towards the purchase of the phone.

If you have monthly access $74.99 or higher, you can get a credit of $100 towards the purchase of the phone, instead of the $50 credit.

If you have monthly access $49.99 or higher, you can upgrade after 12 months rather than 20.

If you upgrade, it resets the New Every Two timer.

If you take advantage of a Lost/Stolen 25% off full retail discount, it resets the New Every Two and upgrade dates.

That covers just about everything, and if you pay attention only to the things that apply to you, you'll be fine.

If you're on a calling plan $49.99 or higher (primary line on a Family Share, or single line 900 minute+), you should be eligible now.

The way to find out for sure would be to call... and ask.
