new choco, mp3 ringtone bitrates?

is there any special set of mp3 bitrates that I need to use for mp3 ringtones for the chocolate (new one if it makes a difference)

my understanding is that I clip ~30 secs from an mp3, rename it .qcp (to avoid verizon inline autoconversion) and email it to my phone.

can I use 128bit? VBR? 160? stereo/mono?

I was thinking of ripping the clips @64 to save space..

64 will not sound as good if you are picky, I suggest just trying it and see how the sound quality is, i do 128

This way is much easier.

If you have a microsd card for your phone and an sd reader on your computer, just drag and drop the .mp3s you want as ringtones into the my_sounds folder. Next, go to your sounds on your phone and send the mp3 as a pix msg to yourself. When you get the msg, press options and select 'save as ringtone'

There is NO quality loss whatsoever. Just make sure your files are smaller than 350kbs in file size.
