Was able to e-mail cropped MP3 to U740 and save as ringtone yesterday (Sunday). Has VZW restored this ability, or was it a fluke?

Cool from my understanding it was intentionally block, at least according to the howard forum threads I read. Maybe verizon realized pissing people off at this point is not in their best interest. I mean really what percentage of folks even know about that to begin with, leave us phone nerds alone 😁

The fact it wasnt working was a fluke, when something like that happens you need to call into customer service so someone is aware it stoped working.

I havent taken the time to post in awhile, but when some people started posting they couldnt send pics or ringtones to their phones anymore, I tested it and mine still worked fine (I am in the midwest). It wasnt something that got turned off, it was something stoped working along the chain.

The ability to send MP3 Ringtones via VZWPIX is back, I think since April.

Back then, I emailed 3 files to my Maxx; an MP3. MID and QCP.

The MP3 saved to the Sounds folder as a QCP.
The MID saved to the Sounds folder as a MID, but only after forcing the file name to be numeric.
The QCP saved to the Ringers folder as a QCP.

Later in June, any MP3 or QCP file got saved as a Ringtone. There was no way to save it as a Sound.
