VZW's PTT
Hey...this is a question for you "insiders" out there: will VZW re-vamp their PTT service
-or- will they scrap it?
It seems that they and the other American carriers don't want to support a PTT standard (ie. POC OMA)
...
PTT will be relaunched using EVDO Rev A. No clue when though
...
thats not what I have heard. where are you getting this info?
...
actually that sounds more like what Sprint is doing

That post is from February. That's the Sams. a930, it's been out for quite some time. And REV A has happened already. I think if they were doing this, it would have happened by now. But you never know with that big Quallcomm uproar what will come next. if there's no solution, We won't have any phones to sell!!!!!!

That is either just Engadget's way of creating a pic or many VZW PTT have a Non-PTT counterpart, LG 4650/4700 for one. So a A930 PTT is possible. EVDO Rev A PTT wont probably launch until EVDO Rev A is in most areas. Current PTT runs on National Access which is everywhere VZW is, new PTT will be on Rev A, which is limited now.

Midnight I am pretty sure that Lord is right. I have heard the same hting some several sources of mine that are rarely incoorct. Not to mention that at a town meeting a while back O heard the saem thing.

And since Amp'd Mobile is going under, will VZW adopt Kodiak Networks' RTX for PTT service?
It works for ATT's PTT customers & it works far better than the existing PTT solution VZW has currently.
...
I didn't know Amp'd had PTT service.. is this what you mean or am I not understanding you?
...
Why bother...IMHO there's no real desire for PTT. In my 2 years at VZW retail, I've sold 2.
