Quick question. In what ways is the New Blackberry better than any Palm Treo phone, like the 700p or the upcomong 755p for Verizon. Please be as detailed as possible b/c I am between the new blackberry or the treo. thanks. 🙂

What are you looking for in a phone?
...
PDA functionality, internet, being able to read documents like pdf's and some word documents. I heard that palm's are very buggy and that blackberry's were solid but I wanted some info on people who know more about it. Also, does it work well with bluetooth b/c I heard the palm's didn't work so well with them. Thanks

700p (or 755). Why wouldn't you want a Windows phone?
...
I have a mac and my friend has a program that can sync blackberries with macs. So the 700p or 755p u say. Ok, cool thanks

Treo will beat blackberry anyday. Blackberry is just a glorified 2way pager, and it has no touch screen or multimedia so it will be hard to maneuver. The treo is basically having a laptop in your pocket. Full internet maneuverability easy 1 touch applications.
...
Wow! Something we actually agree on!

The new BB will have a multimedia player, as well a 5 way directional track ball instead of the track wheel for easier navigation. I use a BB and treo 700w and I absolutely love my BB as a phone and for email.
...
Why no camera/video for the BB?! That's the reason why the 700w is boss!!

Probably because RIM targets the professional user and camera's are not allowed in many places of business, especially in government agencies....but I agree that it would be nice if they could develop atleast 1 model that had one

cough cough PEARL cough cough

Thats bull a sorry excuse for blackberry not to have a camera..who do you think Treo's are targeted to...>??????? Business people...and o wait..what do they have....? a treo with no camera...so blackberry just suks im sorry a pda just isnt a pda with a what..track ball..? and no touchscreen...you might as well just get a sidekick!
...
Treos can be made w/o cameras, but they'd suck.
...
There are many! Palm made a different version without cameras
Just to name a few:
600
650
700p
680
...
But still, it cannot be beat for e-mail.
The way I see it, if the only thing you need it for is e-mail, get a BlackBerry. If you need anything else at all, you will be disappointed with a BlackBerry.

I have used Blackberry's for about 5 years so I am a diehard fanatic and thus, I am biased. I also carry a cell phone and just use the Blackberry for email, web, schedule, and address book.
I am a Mac user so I sync Entourage (Mac version of Outlook) to my Blackberry. Works well.
My son had a Treo 700p for a few weeks and it was a disaster. Frequent crashes/re-starts during the day, poor battery life and if you wanted to auto check email more than once an hour, there was no battery life!
I do look at the Treo longingly. Specifically when I think how great it would be to carry just one device. Ergonomically, the Blackberry is not a great phone as it is like holding a shoebox when you are not using BT. Ergonomically, the Treo is much ...

im not sure of all the bugs of which you speak. I knew of the 650 having several bugs and poor batterly life maybe he had a defective 700p. Ive had mine since the release date no problems. battery life is fine im at work from 9-5 and use all day internet voice and listening to mp3's allday with still batt life left over on the car ride home.

Perhaps my son's issue was that he sends tons of text messages a day, plus treated it like a Blackberry in the sense of checking email continuosly which, caused it to melt down.
I see that there is suppose to be a major software update for the 700p at the end of this month and perhaps that will fix many of the known (battery life, resets, crashes, etc.) issues.
...
the update...? yeah its called the 755. thats how they get you..minute updates but in a new phone.
...
Is there a PDA that doesn't have a low battery life?
...
The 6700 is okay.
The i730 is good with the extended battery but it's pretty big.
...
Size doesn't matter. Performance does.
...
Size matters a little bit.
...
Naw. It's all about performance. If size mattered, I'd get the Q again.
...
Well if it's 100% performance and not size, why are there no more bag phones? Those things could sure get reception but they were just too big!

What are bag phones?
That really cracks me up! Are you being funny, or maybe you are too young to know what a bagphone was?

...
Are you talking for Verizon or Sprint?
...

Perhaps to appease all those who have spent significant money for the 700p, especially recently and won't/can't spend the $$ to switch to the 755.
...
thats true...pwfb good point..and i was talking about the release date for sprint...dont know when it will hit verizon.

I LOVE Verizon but one can't acuse them of rushing phones to market too soon 😁
I know, and really do appreciate the level to which they go to test phones before they come to market but gosh, seems like it could happen a little faster.
