Just recently I was on the verizon site and i noticed they still have there push to talk phones avaiable but as we all know the ones they offer suck, and dont really have any special features, and I am assuming they havent made better phones to support that service due to the lack of customers with those phones. So my question is that if verizon made some more of those phones wit more features such as like a camera, bluetooth and all the otha good stuff we enjoy would any of you guys consider getting one?

Cingular has plenty and still Push-to-Talk doesn't sell. If it were wide spread, free, and unlimited like on nextel then it would be worth while but its hard to build value in the feature as it currently stands. Especially concidering no one you know has the feature as well.

sextel dominates in that field, i dont think others can compete, ptt isnt for everyone anyway

It would have to be on 75% of phones offered and be less than 10 bucks a month for it to catch on...otherwise, people will just use their free mobile to mobile
Plus with the explosion in texting, PTT is a thing of the past!

They should have a PTT app available for PDAs like Cingular does.

I just don't care about PTT.
Its like cool if you're a construction worker or a delivery guy, talkin' to your co-workers or dispatcher, but regular peeps don't seem to be that into it, sorry.

I think it would be useful if you just want to ask a quick question like "Where are you?" or "Did you already get the mail?" or to relay something.
I would use it if I could get it on my i730.

Walkie Talkies facinate me though. I am always playing with my Cobra FRC 2 ways. They are good when a phone call is just not convieint. I actually need to get new ones, my current set doesn't work that well anymore. They don't stay changed and they are covered in paint, dirt, and one of them fell in a river.

hell no, I hate that feature thats one of the reasons I would never get nextel to. If I want everybody to hear my conversations I would just turn my speakerphone on.

The whole concept has been a flop for every carrier. (Except nextel) The problem is that you can't ptt with everyone, just other people that have the service with your carrier. And if you get rural, then it won't work at all, and you've paid all that money. It would be cooler if they released a bag phone that could do ham or something. At least that's my take on it.
