Interesting question. The kicker is that it is proprietary and specifics should not be shared. I have worked for both and I will say that they are similar. The beauty of it is that Verizon is a much better company to work for. If you are a sales rep, I know what you are going through so if you have the opportunity to jump over to Verizon, take it in a heartbeat!

I don't work for Verizon, but I know certain things about their quotas. For example, they are expected to sell four accessories for every phone that goes out the door. I could hardly believe that. If I rememeber correctly, they are also supposed to sell at least 40% of their activations on rate plans 59.99 and higher. I don't remember exactly what the features requirement was, but it might have been 2 to every phone sold. I don't know if these are universal to all areas of the U.S., but this is what my Verizon rep told me here on the west coast.

In my company (omitted) which is an indirect-agent, it's paid per "point"... new 2 year activations (including $20 FSP lines) are one point, and upgrades are 0.5 points... anything under 30 pts is $10/point 30-39 is $15, 40-49 is $20, 50-59 is $25, $60-69 is $30, $70-79 is $35, 80-89 is $40, and anything over 90 is $45... There's a guy who works in the mall down the river from me that routinely *TAKES HOME* $7,500 a month just in commissions...

Sponge,

At that rate of commission that means he is doing well over 300 lines a month IF you factor it under the average of a 59.99 rate plan at $25 commission.

Dude that doesn't seem possible in a mall store.

He's not talking about the rate plan amount... he means that if you do 50-59 activations of any amount you get paid $25 for each of them. Even still, 300 lines would mean he worked every day of the month and did ten lines every day, which doesn't seem possible. I'm assuming that the $7500 would have to be his base salary plus a nice fat commission check. Either that or he's pulling our leg. 🙂

I vote for the leg pulling.

wrong... this is in a mall in a large city on a river in western PA... that store did... lets see... *shuffling of papers follows* a few over 350 *NEW* 2 year activations, and 147 upgrades, plus 5 grand in accessories.

It's all about the location.

he does over 90 new activations 34.99 or higher, therefore he's getting $45/activation... we don't get anything from (company omitted) for selling higher plans/bolt-ons... we're elligible for the VZW bonus bucks program (gas cards for cigarettes. 🙂 ) for bolt-ons and high rate plans...

ok i'll let yall in on one piece of info that could be the same for our mall friend, he may also recieve an acclerator for surpassing a set quota, that can make an enormous difference when comparing 100% of quoata to 150%, as far as direct rep quotas, mine is 90 new and 80 upgrades, accessory goal is 2.1 accs for each handset and 35% activations on 59.99 plans and up which is called tier 4, the motivation is that tier 4 pays the most
