test drive question
i still dont understand. i had someone come in today that is with nextel. their computer in the phone died, thay have insurance but because there is no physical damage, nextel wont replace it. they would like to switch carriers but their contract isnt up until november. would the "test drive" work in this situation? can people test drive if their contract isnt up yet? and then decide to cancel if they like verizon? or do they have to waitr util contract is up and shop around for a new carrier?
...
oh and is anyone with freedom wireless that will be at the meeting in reading tomorrow?
...
They would be charged a cancelation fee with NExtel, all the test drive is, is when a customer signs up with Verizon, if they port out to another carrier within 30 days, verizon will not charge them for the minutes used, look at it like an "enhanced" worry free gurantee.
It has no effect on the previous carrier, so in your case Nextel would charge the customer the ETF
...
Very true. The real question here would be whether or not Nextel has a grace period in which to reconnect service to allow the ETF to be waived.

Most companies allow 30 days.....but being Nextel is like a bunch of Nazi's with letting any of their accounts port out (by locking them all, thus forcing the customer to have to call them first), I wouldn't be surprised if they don't give you a grace period. They'd probably jump on the idea of charging an etf, then in 2 weeks turning around and charging you re-activation fee's.
...
That's exactly right. but they will still be charged for Get it Now and VCast downloads if I'm not mistaken.

You are correct, VZW only credits back airtime, so if you download a GIN app VZW will credit the airtime that you used for the download, but will charge for the down load itself
