🙄 had a customer not to long ago that purchased 2 phones.. she had them about 13 days and came back to the store.. it was apparent that she remembered several things like- #1 15 day worry free gaurantee, #2 UPC codes from box for rebate..However, she did not remember to wait the 15 days before she mutilated the boxes and discarded them.. only keeping the UPC's.. at our location she stood.. demanding a new phone.. mind you we are in a mall location, so we were trying to keep her calm as we attempted to explain what she had done wrong.. regardless of her selective hearing we accepted the phones back.. and issued new phones.. now we have the contents of the boxes and scratched up phones...
The phones are useless to make the money back th...

I totally agree with you, we should not have accepted the return.. however, it was not a choice made by me.. i run the location not the business.. when a customer is irate there is a procedure.. call the owner and account manager.. the owner was the sympathizer, not I

Funny how that always works out that way - instead of backing up the employees, they'll knuckle to the customers & make the employee look like a fool. I've quit jobs over less.

We charge a $25 "restocking fee", which i like to call the "you're an annoying a$$hole fee" and send the phones back to the manufacturer. We don't take a hit that way, and we've also made $25 from each phone.

I have charged different restocking fees depending on how well the phone was taken care of, and then I might sell it at a big discount or retire it to the loaner pool.

According to the porceedure mentioned it was not up to the employee to state a position but rather ask the owner or account manager for a position. In this wasy there is not "backing up the employee" or "leaving them out to dry". It is the owners right to make these decisions and clearly this owner determined that in the long run with this particular customer they would make more money in the long run. They could have taken into consideration potential word of mouth benefits and losses as well as direct sale issues. The owner may have had something in mind for those phones that the employee was not made aware of.

The employee is just that and is contracted either via salary or hourly. Unless the employee is given the responsibility a...

Unless I am mistaken, however, the situation is not an "indirect" location as it is a VzW owned location. Thus, even the manager/supervisor is not the owner and must still adhere to certain practices set forth by the company. Mind you, they MAY possess a certain amount of "leeway", I suppose.

What model are they? Are you selling them? Are they still working Verizon phones (I mean are they not broken)?

I need to get a cheap used phone so I can sign up with Verizon and dump my AT&T account. I want to save the new contract discount for when the VX-8000 comes out.
