Time for another FRU?

Ok I am on my second RAZR. I had my original for less than a year and then it died and I got a free FRU replacement. I got the first one on Dec 24th 2005 on a 2 year agreement and I have had uninterrupted Teca 5 insurance on it.
Now the number 6 button and the send button work 25% of the time so needless to say I need a replacement.
Will It be a free replacement or will I have to pay 50 dollars for the FRU?

thats a really good question. basically you just need to find out if the FRU warranty is one from the date of the FRU? or from the start date of your contract.
I would just call your local store or customer service and get a concrete answer. Cuz, you are probably gonna get several different opinions on here.

if have total insurance plan. then you can do fru instore. tec insurance extends warranty on phone to 2 years. so you should be able to get exchanged at store.

Ok I went to the Lake Grove NY (Smithaven) Corporate store which boasts of being the busiest store in the country. 10 salespeople on the floor, 6 customer care and 5 Solectron tech support.
Anyway, the phone is defective, they were totally out of stock so a FRU has been sent to me via FedEx totally free of charge.

😎 so true... the TEC (total equipment coverage) which is 5.99 per month per line DOES EXTEND THE WARRANTY period to 2 years. Glad they are fruing you out.
Incidentally, for those in the dark- fru= Field Replacement Unit.
its refurb. Many store rps will overlook your insurance level, so its cool your rep is helping you out without static.

Well truth be told, my wife works for VZW but because of the "family hands off" rules (this is my account that my employer pays for) she does not get involved.
She has coached me a bit but I don't like to ask her too much about inner workings so I don't put her in a bad position.
She had a family share for herself...
