Background Info: 2yr Contract, 3 lines on a family share, ~12mo left on contract. Coororate discount applied. Loyal subscriber since 12/2002.

About a year ago, I started having some real issues with Verizon CS. They over charged my bill by 600.00 when they lost tracking of a returned phone even though they caught 'their' mistake later. Could not credit my credit card back (auto-pay) and credited my bill 600.00. Interest free loan of you ask me and it took me 2 months just to do that.

In 04/06 I exercised my New every two and upgraded from an LG8100 to a Treo 700w, as I started to travel quite a bit more and wanted EVDO, email, etc.

I went through 3 of the Treo 700w with various different problems, they gave me a 700p, and had...

ND,

Not sure what exactly for you to try. Not knowing where you are in relation to a VZW Corp store, but I would suggest going there and trying to exchange it within the store vs a phone call.

Have you done the software updates to the Q? There were two issued within the last year to improve some things. I know that I had a couple of customers that have had the same trouble and the software updates had fixed them..

Thanks for the advice Brent,

I do have a vzw corp store that recently just opened up in my town. I have the black Moto Q and wouldn't that be up2date?

My first black moto q had a defective qwerty board, and the 2nd would randomly power down. The y sent me a silver one as a replacement, so that is going back today.

Unsure of the updates in the black one. Have not sold it before.

Possible to try the updates and see what happens from there.

Good Luck..

me thinks the same.

I have a Treo 700W. I have sold quite a few. I have had maybe 2 come back...and both got replacements that have had zero issues.

One person...every phone doesn't work...must be something kinda fishy. Not saying it couldn't happen. Heck, people win the lottery all the time...but the odds are so slim.

Well, here is a break down for you.

I have had two Treo's and 1 Moto Q that had 1 or more buttons not working on the QWERTY.

I had Two LCD's that flickered and ghosted 1 on the 700w and 700p

I had two 700p's and one 700w that would just power down or reboot in the middle of a phone call

I had a 700p that would power down after I sent a txt msg.

I had two 700p's that would just lock up and not respond for 5 mins at a time after sending a txt msg.

Seriously, if I was making this stuff up I would save my self the time and not even bother posting this stuff. I work enough as it is, and really don't need the headache.

Also, these are phones that come right from corporate, I do not have a verizon store in my town (very smal...

first of all, motorola q is horrible you should never buy motorola unless someone is threatening to kill your whole family.

second, I have not found a all in one/pda phone that is not buggy. The samsung and htc phones have been the better ones but still have their issues. If only all the phones used symbian the world would be a much happier place!

FRU That is what they call there replacement program(standa for Field Replacement Unit) But we all now better, try (Factory Refurbished Unit) When you get this one replaced make sure they give you a new one in the stre right ut of the box. It doesn't happen often but when yu head down the path of refurbs sometmes it is hard to get off

Yah, because Motorola and Palm devices work far superior there. 🙄

I love when people suggest a different cellphone company when they have equipment issues. Problem with a Moto phone on Verizon? Go get a Moto on Cingular so Moto doesn't lose your business. Genius!

I have now gone through 3 Motorola Q's and today I called to voice my views and wanted my contract coverted to a month-2-month.

I fail to see how that will resolve issues with equipment. Looks like you feel the problem will solve itself when you buy a Palm Treo with Sprint or TMobile or Cingular... I guess buying a Sony laptop from Best Buy would make it function better than one bought from Circuit City?

I agree.... what most people refuse to understand is that the phone is covered by the MANUFACTERERS warranty. Verizon does not manufacture the device, its the same with every carrier. If you got some bad devices, blame moto/palm, not Verizon. Getting our of your contract b/c of bad phones is like blaming the sportscaster on your local new channel b/c the weatherman was wrong. Place the blame where it belongs.... on phone manufacturers who rush out equipment that is subpar.

Leave Verizon and go with Sprint. Sprint's insurance will cover any phone that is being used on your account, no matter if it is new or used. So you could buy a cheap, old school LG Vi5225, acitvate it on your account, and Sprint will cover it for you. Then when that phone breaks, Lockline will replace it with a newer phone.

Verizon sucks!

If you want a E-mail device, get a Blackberry, they have a Solid OS, any Windows OS is bound to act like your home PC... meaning crazy S**T will happen. Plus, if you are putting 3rd party application or something on it... it just going to make it crash more and more. Get a Blackberry and call it a day.
