A few questions about US Cellular...

I am going to be changing my cell provider within the next three months, and there are some things I am hoping some people here can help me find out. First of all, Does anyone know what the quality of coverage is like in the St Louis region? I know what the site's maps say, but that doesn't tell me how close the towers are, whether dropped calls are a major or minor nuisance, other network issues, etc. Also, how decent is NWeb? what data speeds, etc. Finally, how easy is it to reach service reps for service issues when they arise? Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I am in the oregon market, and they have really awsome network coverage, beats out Cingular everytime. I don't know what nweb is so i am not sure if USC even offers it. The phone selection is a litter smaller than most other carriers, and they test them alot longer so it takes along time for them to get phones on the market. If you are concerned about price. I love the local plans and they beat out the other carriers usually if you don't do alot of traveling. About as much help i am there.

work at the call center....

Don't hear complaints about area - but you have to remember---we offer a 30-day trial period. You can test the network in the area for 30-days, and if it doesn't meet your satisfaction - you may cancel w/ no termination fee. Just the cost of the monthly service for the time used.

yeah, customer service is not a problem, nweb is a bit slow because it is after all just 1x, i do not like web service on such a small screen anyway but imagine the internet on dial-up, it is not nweb perse but until we offer faster internet it will always be slow. it looks like none of us have helped you with your st louis question but i dont think any of us know anything about that market.

nWeb is excellent for accessing WAP sites and its USCC's alternative to having a WAP browser. For instance, using ESPN's WAP site is better than using the pre-loaded URL for ESPN. Much faster.

I was in St.Louis for a while when they first launched that area. I drove from Iowa and I had no problems at all with reception or call quality. I also took back roads on my way back and still had no problems. I am using a Motorola V710, which helps. Unsure if LG would do as well for reception in rural areas.

Lg's are better than motorolas in my market, which should not be different, but apparently to different people we all have different experiences.
