Hi there this is my first post as a long time reader of phonescoop. I hope someone can help me out. I recently upgraded to the Vx6100 from moto v60 tdma so now that I am on the cdma network and using an updated phone I thought it might be fun to have im forwarding on my phone via Aol instant messenger. Now I realize I must have the email adress feature enabled which I do as of last night and yet I still never receive the confirmation txt message from aim and it says it now supports us cellular so i am completely frustrated. I remeber a couple of years ago enabling the email adress feature was what solved my problem but i guess no longer ? Anyway anyone with any insight would be very much appreciated as i just cant understand why I can reci...

HA gotta love us cellular charge you for everything. I just dont understand why a service that works for free for everyone else does not work for Us Cellular when im even paying for the email adress everyone else gets for free ☚ī¸ Oh well at least the reception is the best in the area 🙂 Any other ideas other then downloading the application and paying $3 a month to use aim.

No other ideas really. I think pretty much any other carrier charges about the same for the application though its only free on your pc.

The price is determined by the developer, not USCC. AOL did the version for PC and mac so it's free but otherwise it's a purchased application. I know that on the pocketpc it cost $20 to get the AIM application.

I wasn't referring to internet WAP or any data usage at all. I am aware us cellular charges for applications. I simply wanted IM forwarding which uses simple text messaging as the messages are relayed by aol to your cell phone as you recieve them and so forth. No physical download is required. I have set it up on numerous phones of friends of mine from Verizon to Cingular to tmobile to sprint. Us Cellular is the only service that does not respond when the confirmation text message is sent. So I would appreciate it if the sarchasm was kept to a minimum I'm sorry if I was unclear all I hoped for was maybe a point in the right direction. And as for US cellular charing for the application i just think its silly as i know for fact verizon and lar...

AOL claims to have it but they really don't, this has been a ongoing issue with AOL and USC, AOL blames it on USC but USC hasn't changed anything like AOL tries to say. If you search on the howardforums site theres several threads reguarding this issue...
