Why do people believe they can start an account in someone elses name just because its their spouse? I understand that they bring in the ID and your married but ITS NOT YOU!
Or trying to renew the contract with out the acount holder. Ok you pay the bill and your authorized ITS NOT YOUR ACCOUNT! 🙄 🙄
**obviously I'm having one of those days**

As someone's wife I would want to have access, and on a good day might think I had the right.

Around here though, you realize WHY this can't be so. People's spouses come in here raging mad wanting to change or close accounts in revenge for something or other.

To be fair, you can't grant access to SOME spouses just because you don't think they're doing something out of spite.

I guess people don't understand that from the outside though.

It's just one of those unfortunate things - we've made the customers in this industry believe that everything is owed to them. But - I 've seen that once people seem to get in with us and know the processes they are ok with them. Sorry to hear you're having one of those days; they can be rough.

My favorite thing ever is when you tell the spouse they can't sign a contract, then they say that they'll just go somewhere else and give them their business... Because AT&T doesn't require account holders for anything!!! 😕

Funny story about all account owners and jazz. I had a lady come in the store the other day and was like my phone is broken and all of that good stuff so I was happy to sell a phone. I have not sold anything at that point for a couple days. I asked the lady if the account was in her name, she said yes. So I'm like alrighty can I just see your ID. She then goes I lied to you its under my friends name. End of the story she was not a happy camper, but it made me laugh at how stupid she was to try to lie to me.

I just wanna know where all these "other" stores are that don't require a photo id, or the last four of the social, or a phone number. I guess someone out there has a store with some pretty advanced facial recognition software... 😕

My favorite complaint i get from customers is...

My number is on the account..so I'm an authorized user!!

No you are not!!

It must be stated of the acct that you (yourname) is authorzied on the acct.

Then they go down to retail and they do it for them anyways...sigh

i have no idea what store you're talking about but if an individual is not authorized then there is nothing that I can do when they get here however I will call the account holder and then add the first person as an auth user

Very funny bbguru,. i do run into that same situation day in and day out. People just believe that they are entitled to everything. All I do is try to explain to them why this rule is in place.

So two weeks ago I transferred to a new store and as I have been getting to know the existing clientele here, I have seen an annoying trend. People come in and want to do something on their account and I ask for ID, and they tell me, "Well she/he (one of my coworkers) knows me, I'll just wait to talk to them." And then the customer goes and talks to my coworker and my coworker tells them the same thing! AHH! You can't teach stupid I guess.
