How's EVDO Coming Along Out There??

My mom got a new phone with her wireless provider ATT recently which got me thinking about US Cellular. She told me that the sales rep with them told her that she would be able to begin enjoying 3g in 3-4 months here. So, I was wondering, for those of you out there in the Midwest, where US Cellular is more prominent then anywhere else, how is the EVDO expansion coming along. I heard they have it in Chicago and Des Moines and a few other places now and I was just wondering if someone could give me an update on how things are progressing.... can't wait to start enjoying it here!!! Before the end of the year hopefully 🙂

i live in the place that will most likely will be the last to get evdo. 😛, i look out my front window and up on the hill i see D&B Farm Supply, for 1 week out of the year, our store sees more horses walking through our parking lot then any other store. Next year im going to get a picture haha. Pendleton Round Up, woohoo, :| no customers at all for that week unless its people buying charges because they left it at home haha. people dont care if their phones dont work, for that whole week they wont take time away from a rodeo to get it fixed lol..

so yah i'll be last to get it ;(

Not to try to get off topic but, you're complaining about living in a town of 15,000? My town has less than 2,000 in it and the absolute largest city in my area has about 22,000 people. Believe me, small towns and rurality for pretty much a one-hour radius around my house. 🙂

Got an email from USCC today. It stated, "Get ready. Big things are on the way. This year more than ever, there are some very exciting things coming your way. From exclusive customer deals on phones to free services that are sure to give you a charge, you won't want to miss a thing. So keep your eyes on your inbox.

Based upon prior threads, I think this is a good sign that EVDO will be coming to the North Carolina market in a few weeks from now. Anybody else got any infor to support this email I received?

I actually now have heard that we will have some 3g bleed over into the northern parts of the St Louis market b/c when they complete the launch of it in Midwest market this year it is slated to go all the way through Alton/Granite area which is well inside the St. Louis/West Region Market. Hopefully sometime in 2010 we will have 3g in all parts of St. Louis.
