Treo's Data Plan - Keep getting different answers

I am ashamed for having to ask this, but I've talked to four people on how much the Treo's data service is with Sprint, and each one has given me a different answer (or didn't know). My Sprint rep didn't know for sure. A co-worker at Radio Shack said it was the same as the BlackBerry plan, a guy at the Sprint store said it was $15 a month for unlimited access but the speed was much slower than if you paid for the BB plan, and a guy at a Sprint kiosk said it was $15 a month and the speed was the same as with the BB plan. So... What is it?

And if it is $15 a month, why is it so cheep compared to everyone else (both Verizon and Cingular want $50 for the same service)? Is there some catch? Is it truely unlimited (for example, if I wanted to r...

I can tell you that I had a treo 600 and I had unlimited vision before I added it. When I added it I did not have to pay more or anything.

Drumroll..........

It's $15/month for unlimited access to internet and unlimited data transfer. And yes, it's really unlimited. Why? Maybe because of Sprint's focus on data? And no, there is no speed difference between the basic Power Vision package and a BB package. Did I answer all your questions?

one quick question. What about phone as a modem? I tried and it says my username and password is wrong. I can access it on my phone but not connected to connection manager?

I thought it was $49.99 for unlimited and $39.99 for 40MB? Unless our plan guides are out of date...

And thanks, that clears things up. I thought I had read (months ago) that Sprint had announced it would be $15 a month of Treo data, but I didn't know if that had changed with everyone saying something different... 😕

Guess I'll be switching myself from Verizon as soon as I'm out of contract. 😁

Still though, why would it be different for the BB? Isn't it the same thing?

I have a Treo and use Sprints power vision $15 plan. The data is unlimited. Why is Verizon's Data plan more. I guess Verizon feels that its service is so wonderful that its customers will gladly get screwed over and pay an exorbitant price for data. Not surprising from a company that disabled certain bluetooth data function to force its user to use their more expensive data services. Verizon is big and really doesn't care if you like them or not.

With the Treo browser pocket internet explorer, can you get full HTML browsing? I'm asking because I am a weather geek and would love to check updates when I am at work. The problem is I work outside so no computer...

You are getting a 700p then going to switch soon? Why not just pay 150 and switch and not have to get another treo?

I don't understand what you are saying. I have a 8910 on Verizon and my contracts up in May. I am cancelling Verizon in May and Signing up for Sprint & getting the 700p. I know thats a while from now but I like how prices drop on devices. Plus I don't think i remember seeing any Palm PDAs on the horizon for Sprint.

the base plan in $15. sprint has the faster internet by all carriers. verizon charges more because you pay less for the device. (treo) our internet is faster therefore the price of the phone is a little more then others. but we offer 3 plans..

15, 20, 25 depending on what you use. picture mail/ tv/ music/ ect... the treo 650 uses the older internet, the 700 p/wx uses our EVDO fast internet.

The $15 applies to all powervision phones, not just the Treo. Are all Sprint phones more then Verizon. The fact is what you said has nothing to do with Verizon's high data rates. It is, however, all about Verizon using its name and coverage to justify charging more for its service.

Coverage I don't htink has anything to do with it. Sprint has more of a footprint and more evdo then verizon. Their name does have allot to do with it and they have good service.
