I know sprint is together with nextel but say a customer has a sprint phone and wants to upgrade to this phone will they have to port their number to nextel or vise versa

you would have to but you could change is shortly afterwards. porting is not a bad process anymore especially with sprint-nextel and vice versa it usually only takes a couple hours

I've even seen ports go through in 10-15 minutes now between nextel/sprint and viceversa. It's really not a big deal as mentioned. The only downer some may experience is if you have an old plan, you cannot keep it.

yeah but a lot of newer plans are better than old nextel plans anyways. yeah i have seen ports go through before the customer leaves the store
