Hi, I am no longer with sprint, I left them on May 5th, I had insurance for the longest time on my phone. Even tho I'm not with the company anymore can I still file a claim using a date prior to me leaving the company so I can give the new phone to a friend that has sprint? I know it sounds stupid but dates do matter in the insurance business. That's why I ask. If anyone knows.. help me out

WOW do I smell FRAUD!!! Let me gets this right. You no longer have Sprint which means you are no longer paying for service which also means you are no longed paying for insurance and you think you can file a claim. Come on. You are smarter than that. 🙄
Of course not. Lockline has access to Sprint systems and can tell if an account is active or not. They also know if you are paying for their service and if you are not (in your case) they have no reason to assist you.
...
I am fully aware of what they can look in the system and I wouldn't be commiting fraud due to the fact that I was still paying insurance before I left the company. It was just a question 🙂 but thanks for your kind answers 🙂 FRAUD is a harsh word, use it wisely!

Let me see if i can put this without being rude. Let's say we are talking about a car, and you traded it in May 5th ans even switched to a lower oriced insurance company for your new car.
On May 31st, let's say your friend has a wreck and needs money to fix his car.
You call your old insurance company and make a claim for a wreck on your old car, saying the wreck happened May 1st.
This is fraudulent. In the instance where you would need a police report in a car wreck, LockLine protects themselves by accessing the account to see if it's active.
Good Luck

If you are still paying for the insurance and you are willing to pay the $50.00 fee, I don't see why they would turn you down. Lock/Line does not much care if you still have an active account as long as your payments are current to them.
...
Dude you are just as stupid. 🤣 Lockline does care if you still have an active account. Lockline is paid through sprint. On your bill will be a charge for 4 or 6 dollars depending on what insurance package you have. If your account is not active you have no monthly bill and Lockline is not getting their payments. WOW!!!
...
My point was simply they do not require you to resign a 2 year contract to file a claim. So if he still has valid coverage then he can file a claim. Now if he does not have valid coverage he cannot. Am I wrong or Stupid in thinking Lock/Line will actually send a replacement phone to someone currently paying their premiums?

LOL REALLY!!!!
So I am curious then, what part of "I am no longer with Sprint. I left them on May 5th."
Also where did you come up with resigning a 2 yr. That was not mention at all. You must have made that one up.
Really how do you file a claim on a phone you don't have insurance on because you no longer have service because...

trust me.. at least with Asurion it can be done if your problem falls in the date where you had insurance, even if the account is closed. That's why I'm asking, I know some of what i'm talking about so LOL back at you 🙂 Just wondering if Lockline was different, if anyone works for lockline and can answer my question this is appreciated! thanks!
...
This would work if you called and asked for your account to be closed at the end of the billing cycle. IE you called on 5/5 and asked for your phone to be tunred off at the end of the billing cycle on 5/30. on 5/19 you still have an active, current, terminated account, and lock/line would grant your claim.

what if I ported my number to verizon tho? would that make a difference? I ported it on 5/5

Just letting you know because you stated before that with Asurion it can be done. Well Lockline is an Asurion company so why would Lockline be different.
...
Actually some of the rules and regulations of lockline or what's left of it is different ☹️ right now .. Asurion is taking over some of verizon's lockline accounts since asurion has most of verizon's markets anyway but as far as sprint it has always been lockline and has worked differently, I was with sprint for 6 years or so and dealt with lockline maybe 2 times during that whole time, not sure if anything has changed there since asurion took over ;( if anyone knows that would be helpful, hope this helps you clear up the confussion Iheartsprint... 🙂

I am not the confused one. However, you seem to be a bit confused about the concept of insurance. If you are not paying for the service you can use the service.

SORRY!! 🤤

no honey i'm not confused about it, I was just wondering how the lockline side of things worked that's all.. you evidently don't work for lockline if someone works for lockline maybe THEY can help answer my question. I'm not confused about the concept of insurance, I deal with it everyday with Asurion and even if your account was cancelled/closed if you claim with the peril date when your account was active and you were paying your insurance (within a reasonable time frame of course), I appreciate you trying to help and clear up my confussion 🙂
