I know that you can get free "crappy" ringtones for free off the 3gforfree.com site.

But i was wondering why the ringtones that you buy from Sprint on the phone expire in 90 days?

If this is not true lemme know but i would like to know why this stupid idea of expiration on ringtones is in existence.

Thanks,
Kane

They do not expire in 90 days. The 90 day window is in case you need or want to re-download them again.
If you got a different phone within 90 days of downloading your content, or if your phone went bad within the 90 days of the original download you could get that content back without having to pay again.

Most (if not all) expire after 90 days. This expiration refers to the LICENSE to download, not how long you can keep it on your phone. Once you download it, it's yours forever as long as you don't delete it. If you do delete it or lose it somehow, then within 90 days of the original purchase, you can download it again without being charged. after that, you have to pay for it again. But once again, once it's on your phone, it stays there until you delete it. (I know. I still have my "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" ringtone I bought the first day I had my phone over a year and a half ago 😉 )
