Hello everyone. I noticed that the Sanyo 5500 is lacking some features.

1)Voice Memo Ringtones (When someone calls you from your phone-book it will say "Call from (The name of the person that you programmed from your phone-book using your own voice)). Sanyo 4500 has this feature.

2)Countdown timer & Stopwatch. Audiovox/Toshiba 4050 has this feature.

3)Call times. (It shows the total length of the call and total talk time used on the phone). Verizon Wireless Phones has this feature.

4)Different groups for your phone-book such as: Friends, Family, Business, and Personnal. Verizon Wireless Phones has this feature.

5)Animated Screensavers. Audiovox/Toshiba 4050 has this feature.

I don't understand all the fuss with the 5500, I've never had a problem with since having it since December, and of course the question is what doesn't it do? Is there any other phone on the market that can include the features this phone has into one package? NOT!

1)Voice Memo Ringtones - it's a stupid feature. How many people really need it?

2)Countdown timer & Stopwatch - How often does anyone REALLY need this feature? and if they do need it they probably already own a stop watch.

3)Call times - Call *4, problem solved. All that matters is the total used for the month anyways.

4)Different groups for your phone-book - also not very necessary. I know who I work with and who are my friends and I also know who is in my family. Why do I need my phone to tell me?

5)Animated Screensavers - I can almost understand this complaint because when I have free time I like to sit around and stare at a screen saver on my cell phone.

Conclusion - these are NOT so-called "huge" features to be missin...

1) Voice Memo ringtones: If I had alsheimers then I'd want this...

2) Countdown Timer: I know people who don't wear watches but just use their cellphone instead. It's useful for cooking ramen...

3) Call times: Say you're drunk in a bar and make a call. Next morning, since you don't remember, you might want to know this information. It may provide an important aliby for any felonies you get accused of.

4) Different groups: I dunno, the groups thing makes it easy for me. If any of my friends in one state call me, it plays one ringtone... If my friends from another state call me it plays another... If my family calls me it plays another... That way I know generally who's calling me without having to remember a diff ringtone for eac...

I can think of a reason for animated screensavers... eating up standby and talk time so you have a reason to complain the phone doesn't perform as advertised, thereby giving you a (ridiculous) reason to churn...lol

Those features are great for people whose carrier has a postage stamp sized coverage area. At least they can watch the little animated screensaver blocking out the no network message.

that's funny. but when i cook ramen i use the timer on my microwave if i can't remember 3 minutes on my phones clock, and an alibi is nice, but it won't prove where you were(i did really like that one, though). not to mention that you don't need groups to assign different ringers, but i see your point where it could make it easier for what few people use it.
