I'm confused...... i have the Sanyo 9000 (GREAT phone, upgraded from the 5600) and am enjoying the music store very much. What I am confused about is when I download a song, it isn't putting anything on my sd card, even though the sd card icon is green (in use) during download. when I check the card it shows nothing under any of the categories. Well, yesterday, I went to download another song, and it said it couldn't because my sd was full and I needed to clear space for it. What is going on with this??

!!The author bears no responsibility for the accuracy or correctness of the followig information!!

I'm going to take a wild guess. I imagine it possibly could have something to do with the Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM) technology.

Here is some information I gathered regarding it. Hope it helps some.

The card's control circuitry allows data to be read and written (in its protection area) only when appropriate external devices are detected. A check-out (copying) from a PC to the SD Memory Card is restricted to 3 copies in compliance with the SDMI specification. All SD-Audio products comply with SDMI.

Apart from the area in the SD Memory Card where the key is stored, th

I have the A920, and I believe that you can only see the Sprint Music store songs in the Sprint music player. I have transfered a lot of stuff to my card from my computer using a card reader I bought online, and I have seen the files there.

But because of the file type (AAC+) it will only show in the player...not the media player.

The media player plays things such as .mp3 and .3GP files.

Hope this helps.

If that is the case perhaps it is because you are inadvertently filtering the files that you are able to view while browsing the card.

Like CptFarlow said, the Windows Media player will only open files of certain extensions.

If you wanna check even with Windows Media player go to where you think the songs should be and in the dialog for opening the files, select "All Files" for the 'File of Type' option. It will be near the bottom of the dialog box. Windows Media player should then show all files that it can see, even those it cannot play.

Else you could alwyas browse the card directly.

I hope I can help. I have a MM9000 and have noticed that you can infact see the music files on the card. The are stored in a music folder on the card. You can not load these files from the media player. They can only be played through the music player. If you connect the phone to the computer using the included cable and browse its contents, you will find a music folder. In this folder will be the songs you downloaded with a koz extension and any playlist you made. These are not playable in windows media player. Now I made the mistake of deleting these files(accidently)and could no longer play them and I had to waste another download from the store to get them back. You can put mp3 in this folder and play them through the music pla...

The cable is for using your phone as modem or, if software finally supports this phone, transferring your phonebook.

Transalation: Seems like Sprint and Groove mobile went out of their way to keep average people from using their hardware as they see fit because a minority abuse its cabilities.

Btw - off topic - but it amazes me these companies takes this stance over nothing more then money when they fail to take the same stance when people's lives are at stake. Kinda reinforces what is truly important to the new corporate order.

The strategy these companies is quite militant when you look at it from the right paradigm. Despite digital music sales passing 1 billion last year - they still claim the need to prevent average users from utilizing the full capablities of their hardware and also continue to stifle innovation.

If they have their way, ...

I was able to play unencrupted aac files just fine on my a940. In fact, my music fles on my memory card are in encoded 64k aac files. I think you're trying to put songs you've downloaded from iTunes, which doesn't work.
