Excuse me? I think you need to get a life and a better hobby than bashing people who are trying to find solutions to problems they don't know about! I have spent over 4 hours on the phone with Sprint and Treo tech support and have talked to six different Sprint associates in two stores. Posting this was my last resort. Get a life!

I greatly apologize if I came off as a tart, but I misread your response. I was in a hurry when I read it and my first thought on it was that you were calling me lazy. I would appreciate any help I can get right now! Here is a brief explanation of what is happening to my phone. I have had my Treo 650 since July and this past Friday my phone started turning on and off by itself. I can't call out on it or text. All of the memory is gone, it seems to have crashed. I took it to the local Sprint store here in town and they could not help me. I have had it flashed, update, and have done a hard reset. Nothing works and they won't exchange it under the manufactures warranty. I am looking for advice on how to many fix it so it will work or ...

Do you have insurance on the device?

Yes I have insurance, but if I make a claim, it will be my second in one year and I was told they would drop my insurance. I have to have insurance on my phone. Should I have to use my insurance for a warranty issue? I don't even know if this is a warranty issue or not.

I wonder if you got infected by some virus. Have you linked it to a pc that has had similar problems?

Do you have TEP ($6/mo) or ESRP ($3/mo)? If you do then any repairable damage can be repaired at the sprint store. If its unrepairable (but not wet or smashed), the unit will be swapped for a refurbished model. This is free of charge as its included in the service and repair policy you pay for. If the unit has been wet or smashed, then its time to contact insurance, or purchase a new phone.

If I were you I would go back to the sprint store, or try another sprint store, or even a nextel store. They can help you, if they say they cant they are lying.

first of all, I would call Tier 2 Technical support before I did anything with lockline.. I suggest you do a hard reset on your Treo... but if you dont know what you're doing call in 888-211-4727 ok? don't be a punk and go to the store or call lockline... you're treo's not toast yet.

I have talked to second level tech support and treo tech support and they had me do a hard reset. I have update the software and had the phone flashed. It still does not work right. I am going to take it to a technician in a corporate store to be looked at. I was told they know more than the reps at Alamosa stores, which is what we have here.

There are some Treos that are known to have this issue of randomly shutting off. The only solution that I've seen work is just getting it swapped.

Is there a reason they would just turn on and off, like bad software? Sprint is saying that it is because I dropped the phone. I dropped it in the first week I had it and I have had it since July of 05. You would think that if dropping it caused the problem it would have happened then.

I'm not treo savvy by any means, but, it seems to me you could have posted a link to your topic in the other forum WAAAAY faster than typing that slap in the face. I hope he is THE ONLY answer to your issue jerk. 😈
