Sanyo 9000 Discontinued

I am a little upset cause I wanted to buy the Sanyo 9000 and the representative at Sprint just called me and told me that he got an e-mail today, telling him to let all his customers to know that the Sanyo 9000 was being discontinued.

Sanyo did this with the 5600, why do they keep discontinuing there phones, right after they come out?

It's discontinued?!?! We are getting a whole bunch of them in a shipment in a week. It just came out...so that doesn't make sense. I'll ask my Area Manager...

I would really appreciate it, cause I wouldn't lie to you guys. I was going to get it as a new customer, and the guy at the Sprint store told me that it was discontinued. He said they were not getting anymore shipments. He said it was in his e-mail.

I am going to get the Samsung MM-A940 now, I really wanted the Sanyo 9000. If you find out other wise, let me know.

Well i would wait for the A900 and the A920 to come out. I was going to get the A940 but the 920 looks so much better.

My boss and co-worker both have the A940, and they both partially regret it. They love the Power Vision, but the swivel bothers then and you have to hold the camera VERY still to get a good picture, but the quality is awesome if you get a good shot.

I was around when the A600 was being sold and I have seen my share of them come back. All I have to say is any phone with a swivel head is a disaster waiting to happen. Take my word.

i don't understand why the rep said that the phone would discontinue when we are getting a bunch of them to be instock. so far this phone is brand new and people want it. i could understand what you saying that sprint discontinue alot of their phones but it's because like every six months or less there's an upgrade version to it 😕 but that i know of this phone is not being discontinued. 🙂

🤣 i agree with you on that any phone made with the swivel head is a disaster. the samsung A600 was horrible with that people would always come back with it all broken!! 🙄

In my training class for CS at a vendor site, we were doing group presentations comparing different phones, and my group made up a song about the a600. I forget what we were comparing it to, unfortunately. Anyway, the song showed how crappy the a600 was.

I think it's a case of him not having the phone in stock, so he would rather sell me a phone, what I don't want, rather then get me the phone I requested.

So what phone are you guys suggesting me get, cause I either wanted the Sanyo 9000 or the Samsung.

What's up with the Sanyo MVP that is on Sanyo's website anything special about that phone?

I did see that the sanyo 9000 was reaching it's EOL (end of life) in december, but that was about a month ago. Now, it's saying that there is no EOL through Q1 2006. Basically, I think it was an inventory issue. Due to the phone being so popular, there was a concern that we might not be able to manufacture it as fast as people are buying it. That's just a theory, so don't quote me on it. Another theory is that it was all B.S. to create a false sense of urgency about the phone. But the point of my post is that it is not being discontinued at this time. 😁
