Firmware Update
I wanted to try and see if May 7th really was the date so I checked for firmware updates and instead of seeing no updates (like normal) it came up with a screen that says "The firmware update could not be completed. Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Customer Service Error Code:1012"...What is this????

The size of the update is larger than what the OTA Updates can accommodate. That said, depending on the Android Phone you have (i.e., either the HTC Hero or the Samsung Moment), the size for the Moment Upgrade is approximately 80+ MB and for the HTC Hero this is in excess of 115 MB approximately. Actually, it's not what you said. It's more closely relevant to the bandwidth limitations that exist for doing OTA updates. Think of this update as something similar to updating your old Windows PC back in the mid 90s from Windows 95 to Windows XP (or in the current day terms, updating from Windows XP or Vista (god forbid! 😛 ) to Windows 7. The point is that your performing a major OS Update. Your Android Experience, after this Update is completed, will improve significantly. Thus, the size of the Update is what it is and consequently it will have to be done in the fashion as described here...

I did not get any text message saying the update was available. I check firmware updates about once a month just to see if maybe it was out there. I figured why not check it out on one of the days rumored to have it released on. It was the first time I have ever got anything different then No Update Available so that does indeed give me hope!

I hope it is soon. I am not sure how much those reps know though. I want the update to be right though too. I don't mind the wait as long as it is a good update.
