so i hear we are getting the nexus one but now i see on the front page of phone scoop the HTC EVO 4G which looks real nice 😁. so now I'm like man do i want the nexus one or the EVo 4G. I got a rinky dink instinct(the first one) 👿 and its cause me so many problems but I'm not sure what phone to go to next
...
the instinct sucks 👿 im in the same situation. i think ill wait for the nexus 1 and then decide 😎

I think aside form all the other major benefits of the EVO the Sense UI is really a compelling feature. Android 2.1 is improving but it's still pretty spartan. Sense adds ton of usibility. of course there's also the 4.3" screen and 4G and HDMI out and HD Vid recoding and a kickstand and more ROM.

does the EVO 4G HAVE 2 CAMERAS?

8mp on the back and 1.3mp on the front. in the uk they video conferencing but not in the states yet.

the N1 will be an unlocked device, and being a google phone, it means you'll get the updates the fastest.
That being said, the Evo is a slick piece of hardware

There's really no such thing as an unlocked verizon device. Having said that, getting vanilla android as opposed to the Sense UI will make the updates quicker. Droid is getting 2.1 today after being out 3-4 months and hero is getting 2.1 in april (possibly) after being out since october? so 6-7 months? 3 month lag isn't that bad as long as updates actually arrive. for a flagship device like the EVO I am betting they will. (sorry for long post got carried away)

the N1 will not be carrier branded, Verizon and Sprint will both be offering the N1. all they need to do to make it unlocked is to authorize ALL the ESN's to work on either network.
The droid got the update faster because it is stock Android. The Hero has sense UI which hinders development time considerably. the Evo is sense.
Also, 2.0 and 2.1 are essentially the same OS. 2.1 just has more eye candy.

I thought the verizon one was going to be subsidized?

there might be a subsidy.. but even then the phone is not "locked" you just need to keep an active line. Unless google makes a data etf, with Verizon you could get a cheap N1 and then switch to a flip phone and verizon would be ok with it
