Instinct HD to launch at $250 after rebate?
Wow, that is interesting indeed. I've just got about 60-days until I am eligible for an update. I have assumed that I would get a Pre, but was also going to take a close look at the Instinct Q, and the Hero too. From the info I've seen, I still think that Pre is the way to go for me--especially at a 'current' $100 lower price point.
I wasn't crazy about my Instinct, but liked it well enough. I have always had good experiences with all of the Samsung HW I have owned, and there have been quite a few over the years.
If the main thing the HD has going for it over the first-gen Instinct is the HD video, 5mp camera, Opera Mini, etc, then I think the Pre is still the better phone for me--especially as the SW updates keep getting pushed ou...

Unless it's priced at $50- 100 out the door, it's going to be dead in the water. $250, after a $100 main in rebate, is ridiculous. It may have "HD" video, but that won't mean anything unless the camera capture quality is outstanding. Most phones have mediocre lenses and other parts, something increasing the pixel count won't fix. Aside from that, the Instinct's operating system is old and needs to get the Old Yeller treatment. With the Pre and Hero out, and the Instinct Q coming soon, the Instinct HD is a waste.
