You know what’s sad, is that despite all the hype and hoop-la about the new Palm Pre all Sprint users and those on the fence want is a new Blackberry!
I mean everyone else has gotten a new and improved Blackberry!
But no, Sprints going to gamble with the Palm Pre. Hey I’m sure it’s a great device but I don’t want to learn a new mobile OS, I don’t want a slider with a scrunched up top row of keys, I don’t want a touch screen.
I want the Bold, the 8900, the Niagara…or whatever, heck at least the Pearl flip (I don’t want that one though). With Rev. A no less!

Let’s face it Blackberry & Apple will continue to dominate the smart phone arena with WM & Android a close second. Why? The same reason...

That and Nextel just got a sexy new curve

The 8350i, your kidding right? 😕

It's called the BB Tour 9030, a cousin of the Bold, same features. Sprint people will finally get a kick a$s phone, how about that!

Now that's what I'm talking about, don't you think that will sell better than the Pre, even without all the hype?

People like this guy will always find something to complain about. If the new Blackberry were coming on June 6th he'd be saying: "People don't want a new blackberry on Sprint, they want something to compete with the

Complaining, ventting, a rant call it what you will. 😎 I'm just bring up the point that me and I'm sure thousand others would perfer a new BB for Sprint rather than another attempt at a "iPhone killer."
Heck I think the BB Bold is an iPhone killer, let's face it the newer Blackberrys are SWEET!I think it would have been a better choice for Sprint to drum up new business (think how many businesses already use BB's) if they would have released a new BB instead of the Palm Pre. 😉

The nextel blackberry is a very nice phone, so don't...

Take your negativity elsewhere please, this board has enough of that already.

Well he is right about the Palm Pre, it is not that exciting. If Sprint would have snagged the BB Tour exclusively, they would have had a better investment to turn their bad numbers around.

The Pre IS VERY exciting! No one is going to switch carriers to get a blackberry bold. But I am sure many people would jump to sprint to get am amazing phone like the pre.

Agreed! I've also seen very little to no advertising for the pre, and I hear people talking about it all the time. "When is Sprint getting the Palm Pre?" "Isn't Sprint getting a phone that's supposed to do more than the iphone?" "Hey, do you know how much the Pre will cost?"

My issue with the hype, I would estimate more than a million Sprint subscribers with a legacy plan not making the switch to a Pre. Our plans are too feature rich to scrap them to double our monthly expense. It is not the phone that is keeping me with Sprint, it's my service plan. However, if I were to switch plans, I'm going iPhone. I wonder if Sprint marketing folks take our comments into account when they make decisions. Additionally, I cannot wait to see Apple's and at&t's new iPhone attributes and service plans. Both designed to undercut the Pre and Sprint.

The only way the iPhone could undercut the Pre feature-wise would be a complete overhaul of the OS, and we've seen what the new OS is like, so that simply won't be happening.

And, yeah, I really doubt that AT&T's pricing is going to change that drastically to undercut Sprint.

Do you think before you type.... how is the apple iphone designed to undercut the pre, the iphone features are not even that great... wow the new one is getting a video recorder and business email capabilities it took them three year to get this.... and plans at&t plans are close to double that of sprints...

The thought that I had, new iPhone being released shortly after Pre. At&t announces to review current iPhone plans with a newer "more" competitive pricing structure. Now I even had a thought about the brand awareness and acceptance Apple has created with their product. So the answer to your question, yes I did think before I typed. It took three years for an iPhone to add a video recorder and business email capabilities. In the business world I work in, thats a three year head start and a few billion dollars of revenue this phone has generated for Apple. So, do I double my service plan cost with Sprint or wait until at&t releases their cheaper plans to compete with Sprint's Everything offerings?

How is that a head start if almost 75% of phones that come out have a video recorder.

🤣 It's funny how many times the iPhone has come up. Every time something new comes out, it's instantly compared to the iPhone. I'd say it's already won that battle.
I would think the Pre should stand on it's own, maybe compared to a Blackberry.

Another thing, where are those Palm Pre contest winners that were going to get a free Pre if they posted, twittered, blogged, etc about it? 🤨
