Verizon81

Feb 9, 2009, 9:25 PM
Ok my wife and I are making the switch...we are tired of over paying for service...that really is our only complaint.

we are nervous about coming over...havent pulled the trigger yet. we want to get some feedback from folks...are you happy with sprint? is the coverage that much different?

When are the new blackberries due out?

thanks everyone....🙂

The coverage with any carrier can always differ from user to user, just check the coverage locater on sprint and see how you fair...but more important take full advantage of your 30 days to make sure it works where you work and play! ( my advice) just get temp numbers only port after you're confident the service meets your demands.

Don't be nervous about signing up with sprint, the call clarity is amazing. More than likely you'll be pleasantly surprised just how much better Sprint voice clarity is compared to verizon... no codex robot sounding like verizon, crystal clear calls!

And HELL the value is unmatched. 1500 minutes, with BB service, 7 pm nites, sprint TV, GPS, etc etc for 130 bucks! C'mon noone can argue that's one sweet deal.

exactly!!! you just can't beat the plans!! We are actually looking to pay our etf to port over because it will save us a minimum 20-30 per month PLUS have more options and minutes...

the hard part is we hear horror stories about billing, customer service, no in house tech support if your phone acts up and all of our friends/family have vzw...ugh (amazing we still wanna switch huh?)

my wife likes the lotus....i am thinking blackberry curve....although if she doesnt go lotus she will go curve as well she said...heard bold might be coming soon?

yup want GPS with verizon that's another 10 bucks per line ass rape please, unlimited txt 30 more for the family! and forget if you want to use a God damn BB because they will rape you another 60 bucks there! you just get so much more with Sprint. Verizon doesn't even offer TV on their BB curve! đŸ˜ŗ

Look you found your way to this site, there are a ton more resources for the savvy users that will help navigate you through any troubles you might stumble into..but chances are you will sign up for your 1500 minute plan for 130 bucks!- your bill will be right!, you'll be happy with your phones!, and you will laugh at everyone being butt raped by verizon lol

7 pm nights should help with your family, or for ten bucks more get 6 pm nits!

Sprint is a great choice, like someone said ealier reception and call quality are good. Im sure you have heard the horrors of customer service, but that can be all solved by making a good relationship with the person that sells you the phones! Have you done the switch yet? Where you from? Depending on where you work, we may be able to get you even a BETTER deal on your phones other then the 129.99 1500 share/data/talk plans!

I have been waiting for the new BB to come out too, but honestly doesn't look like one is coming out for a while. But with the new 4.5 upgrade for our blackberry curve, there is almost nothing that you CANNOT do on it! Great phone! I've been working for Sprint for 2 years now... If you have any questions lemm...

SIGH!!! Sorry can't help you with your ETFs with VERIZON ☚ī¸

But! Like I said, I work with sprint, SO I CAN get you a KILLER deal on the phones and the plans! I'm not from New York though, so I would have to mail you the phones. I would put temp. numbers on them, so you wouldn't never be without cellphone service. That should also give you the oppertunity to actually try the service out a little before you decide on the ole' switcherrooo!!

Always happy to help and answer any questions! lemme know!! 😁

My advice:

Get the phones but don't port your number over immediately. My friend switched from Verizon last month and was a bit nervous since he'd had them for as long as he'd had a phone. I had him set up a new account and wait a few days to port his number. After he had tried it a few days and was happy he ported his number.

Go to a store to get phones and start service. Moreover, call the store and ask the manager to make an appointment with you with their most customer service oriented rep. Get that rep and manager's contact info. Call or email (oh, how we love customers who use email for stuff like this) them if you ever have issues.

Most things can be resolved by the store reps directly now, aside from a few tech support...

Just a word of advice to you guys over here. The OP considers himself an "important executive" who is above simple things like contracts so if you ever DARE contradict him on anything, you'll go from "helpful smart people" to "minimum wage counter workers who know nothing.

Have fun! Oh, and send a pre my way... pretty much the only palm I've ever been interested in.

I say just like everyone else, port a week or 2 after. If you're planning on getting blackberries, it HAS to be on a Data plan. Since its a family plan the most convenient one is the $129.99 for 1500 minutes. Do you bank with a credit union? Any credit union? If so, 10% off the bill. So it sits at $117 a month plus act fees waived. Just like everyone else is recommending, go to a corporate store. Depending who you work for as well. USPS has a %25 discount, same for UPS. Go to a Sprint CORPORATE store! Also, yes its a 2 year contract after the 30 days are up but its a PRORATED contract. Look at this link to explain the proration, its the best proration value out of the rest.

You were the one who wanted to pretend to be in the military and going overseas to get out of your contract... do you really expect people not to jump on that?

My original post on this thread was a warning to you guys about the type of customer he'll turn out to be.

So yes, I was trying to be informative. If he wants to come to sprint, then he is able to, as long as he understands what it means.

I read his stuff over at Verizon forums, and although I will be more than happy to accept new sprint subscribers, his premise does worry me. If he has a valid contract that he wants out of, he should pay the ETFs.

From what I understand, he renewed his contract and then his company informed him they wouldn't be covering phones anymore (or blackberry features or something like that) he originally posted before his 30 day guarantee day was up asking what to do, if there was any way to keep his blackberry without the email and web, or how that worked.

Then in the post I linked he asked about getting out of the ETF.
