Can’t believe I’m doing this…

For the longest time I would wear the Kool-Aid mustache with pride. Some may call it nothing more than Stockholm syndrome because I worked for the company, either way I liked Sprint. Data speeds were great, call quality was sub-par at best but I never talk on my phone so I was able to look past that. Plus I have an amazing plan that is very hard to give up. I have gone several years with Sprint with out too many problems. Yes there were billing errors and such (once they charged a 600 dollar phone to my account that I had already paid for in cash) but no company is without fault. Now I have a major problem and I can’t get any help. I have a 6800 Mogul (I know I know, throw all the comments you want about it being a piece of crap)...

I agree Sprint's data speeds are amazing, especially Rev. A. I experienced them with the Treo 800w...crazy fast!
And in my experience Sprint has some of the best call quality, in my area.

But if you look at the two review tabs for the BB Storm and Bold you'll see the Bold with ATT wins hands down.
I played with them both and it pretty much comes down to touch screen or not. As far as I can tell the whole screen of the Storm moves, hence the 'click'. 😕
Kind of weird if you ask me.

But hey, if data speed is what your after and your current plan rocks try one of Sprint's Rev. A phones.
Me, I wish Sprint would come out with a Rev. A BlackBerry. I can only hope. 🙂

Back up your stuff and try a hard reset?

Restore just your contacts and try that for a bit and see if that fixes any of your issues.

If not it may be faulty and depending on if you have TEP or not It would be free to replace or cost up to 119.

Goodluck.

A Hard reset might do the trick, but the better route would be to reflash the rom.

Use this link and follow the steps to backup your information and do the rom update to 6.1.

An alternative route to back up your information is goint to www.dashwire.com on your computer and set up an account. After that go to www.m.dashwire.com to have your phone do the backup. After the software update go back to www.m.dashwire.com and redownload the software to your phone so you can have it re-downloaded again.

By the way when you go to www.m.dashwire.com you're going to be doing it from your phone's browser. Cheers. -Drake

Go to Sprint.com, click on "Find a Store" in the upper right hand corner. When the pop up window comes up you'll see a link at the bottom that says something about solving your repair needs from your home or office. Click on that, answer a few extra questions...and they'll send you a replacement. If you have TEP or equipment protection, there is no charge. Without it, I believe its $70 or $90, but hey, no contract. They'll ask you to send the defective one back...but it's a wonderful option for your situation. Hope that helps.

They'll let you do that only if there is not a repair location near by.

Not true, I use this every day for customers. I've even used it on my employee acct. Works everytime. Though, it is inventory dependant.

ei. if you are looking to switch carriers, i would not prefer that, coz you will still have a 2 yr contract with them, new plans, which are expensive, not sure how the data speed is. why just upgrade your phone to touch pro or touch diamond instead, and you can still continue with your current plan.
