ESRP vs ERP vs Sprint changing the progam without telling anyone

It used to be if you paid $7.00 your got ESRP and ERP both individually $4.00 but combined on sale for $7.00. I know the ERP would cover if the phone is lost, wet, or broken in 3 or more places and it would go to Assurion for a claim. ESRP would cover pretty much everything else. I have had a broken screen on my phone before and they have fixed me in the store. When I bought the service I was told that unless it was lost/stolen, broken in three or more pieces, wet, or showing the motherboard that I could take it back to a sprint store and they would cover it with this TEP (Total Equipment Protection) program which I have used before and it was. Now I am told that effective the 8th of this month they stopped doing that and it would be a ...

It is not a matter of calling Assurion...it is a matter of changing the program and never telling any one. To expect that to happen it would have been fine but What do I pay $7.00 for anymore if all I am getting is the $4.00 service of ERP?

You get your manufacturer warranty covered in store, and extended beyond the first year.

They can do this because this has always been the policy, they just have not been enforcing it.

The policy was three or more pieces, lost/stolen, or showing motherboard was how it was explained to me. Why would they not have enforced for years and now being so strict on it and why are the reps at the stores telling me the policy just changed on the 8th if it was always the policy...

Not to mention at the time I was set up that a perk was that if you paid the $7.00 a month which I have for over 3 1/2 years that they would take care of you in store. An assurion claim will take 10-15 days to come in according to there website. This is rediculous.

Yea, that's not the case at all. It's generally 2-3 days turnaround and you can get next day delivery for an extra 7 dollars.

And any reps informing you that this is a new policy is simply not wording it correctly. Physical damage was never intended to be included in the ESRP exchange but was for a number of years.

I am not trying to be rude but dont call me a liar. I ask you or anyone else for that matter to go to phoneclaim.com (this is assurions website) mark down that you have a sprint phone and on there website it says 10-15 days turnaround at this time. I need a phone immediatly for my business needs and I thought that the ESRP covered me. Since you are so up on the policies could you also inform me and all the other Sprint users on here what other policies you are letting people slide on so we can be prepared when they take it away. And just so I am clear you never heard anything about lost/stolen, three or more pieces, or showing motherboard as the only reason not to swap a customer out in the store. It was explained to me that way when I ...

This is my 2nd blackberry and the first one was swapped with no problem with the tech here in KC telling me this what I pay for. If I knew I was only getting ERP coverage then why do I pay $7 a month. What was ESRP intended for and why would they say that last time. The problem with your company is that your not empathetic. You see it only from your point a view and if the non policy change but change happend 2 weeks ago for you that is plenty of time for you to get used to it but a guy like me that does not come in every other week does not know. I have my credit card on file with Sprint to pay my bill...I am not saying that other companies are better but they position themselves better. You just dont understand what I am saying do you...

I do understand that youve been given a replacement before.

They were very lax on what was/not covered.

Its the letter of the law now, not the spirit.

Its not that I dont understand your point, Its that whether I do or do not, I do what I am told, and I am told to not replace in store for cracked screens, broken flips, etc. etc.

Look at it this way.. who is at fault for a broken screen or flip?
If the manufacturer is at fault, thats ESRP, if you are, or there is no fault assigned, thats ERP.

that is a great way to put it.

i know that it sucks to have a broken phone. but the bottom line is: the phone was not PHYSICALLY broken when it was given to you. something YOU allowed to happen caused the break. so use the INSURANCE.

with that said, INSURANCE has two parts, premiums and deductables. you pay both. if you dont like it, pay $120 every time you break your screen.

i know it sounds rude, but its real life.

1. Why were Sprint’s customers not notified about this change?

A: The move of physical damage to insurance does not affect the rules of the TEP and ESRP products. By rule, physical damage
has never been covered by ESRP, but Sprint has been covering it under ESRP. We are now changing our actions to match
the rules of the program.

2. Doesn’t Sprint’s S&R collateral need to be updated?

A: Sprint Service and Repair collateral has always stated that physical damage is not covered by ESRP; therefore, no collateral
update is needed.

3. Why do we have ESRP if it’s not going to cover physical damage?

A: ESRP is meant to offer the customer a better alternative to using the manufacturer’s warranty. Mechanical ...
