So we got a new service and repair DM who informed us that our stores are using the advanced exchange method too much when we're ordering phones through TEP. So she told us we have to teach ourseleves how to be technitions and work on Sprint phones ourselves. If we don't cut the number in half of what were doing now for phones then we're getting the ability to order phones taken away from us all together. WTF how are we supposed to teach ourselves to do this..trial and error?! Breaking a couple phones first would certaintly look good to our customers! I think Sprint should at least send a tech out to teach us this since we have no idea how to take apart Sprint phones and replace LCD screens, keyboards, etc on them!! There is such a thing calle...

Are you corporate or third-party? If you are corporate and a repair center then you should be repairing a lot of stuff. As long as it's not soldered, then a lot of things are easy to fix.

They have some guides for a lot of models to show methods. Your S&R manager should be able to show you where those can be found on the intranet. I've never used them, though. It's easier just to get a screw driver and go at it. If you're nervous about it then you may want to try disassembling a few phones being vendor returned, rather than a customer's phone.

When a new phone comes out we aren't ever sure what all we can fix. We just wait until we have one returned and then take it apart to see what parts are modular and easily replaceable. Fo...

We're third party. I took one of our phones today a rumor and disassembled it. Took me 2 hours haha. If you have any idea where any guides are that'd be amazing! Nextel IDEN phones are so much easier then Sprint phones.

The right way to do it is for a more experienced rep to train the new tech.
😛

Still, there's no harm in taking apart a junk phone. It's a good learning experience.

Get a hard (thick) guitar pick, they work wonders on phones, they don't scratch them and they can bend to the contours. Also in eTicket when you click "appove exchange" the next window has a lot of trouble shooting tips that have helped me a ton.
