Sprint's fabled SERO plan rides off into the sunset

A common battle cry in the carrier war heard in recent years has been "yeah, but those plans all suck compared to Sprint SERO." A little too common, in fact -- a significant fraction of subscribers signed up for the incredibly lucrative employee referral packages didn't actually know any Sprint employees -- but at $30 for several hundred voice minutes plus unlimited data and texting, that whole referral thing was an ordeal worth enduring. Those plans were never meant to be a permanent institution. Anyone with half a brain knew that. The greatest deciding factor in wireless should be whether or not you can get a signal, not who is cheaper or has the most goodies to offer. Congrats though on posting yet another pointless thread. Agreed, leave Sprint because they dont offer sero anymore???? That doesnt even make sense. No other carrier offers anything close to Sero either and Sprint is less expensive than EVERY other carrier on normal consumer rate plans.

Sero is gone so now you want to leave Sprint and spend even more money??? That is ridiculous.

The phrase was used in the general connotaion (ie. "you"=whatever consumer would want to leave due to lack of SERO) Try to expand your mind past the literal.

Hahahah HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! sprint sucks that's why they were giving away those stupid plans!!!!!!! if they didn't suck in the first place they would never consider doing so. NOW Mr genius Hesse thinks he's a big dog and going to change the tides of sprint....problem is sprint still SUCKS!!!!!!!

This is hysterical sprint can't signed up any new subs, but hey take away the one plan people were actually signing up for...what is next? taking away prepaid ghetto boost mobile LMAO!!!!!

Hahahh right a couple of phones have just made sprint automatically successful, hahahah nice try. its cool sprint got some cool phones, but they have to execute on everything else (cs) before they stop sucking!!!! Just wait the numbers are coming out soon, and I guarantee sprint is still doing poorly.

so you're basing a companys value, and service quality on CS alone.. you sir are a moron!

yea CS sux, so what. no one's CS is perfect. Sprints network is great in my area. much better than ATT, and at least equal to VZW in most places. Price is better than both by a long shot (EVER IF YOU DONT HAVE SERO).

better dumbphone selection than ATT and VZW IMO.

so get off you nutswinging bandwagon and realize that whether you like it or not, Sprint isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

These people are a waste of time. They say CS doesn't matter but the churn rate says differently. They are as oblivious as Sprint itself and don't deserve a better carrier.

Well, Which is worse: constantly defending a company that you like and works for you, or constantly hating on one that you don't for no other reason than to be a pain in the rear to an entire community who really could care less what you think about their service provider? What really cracks me up, is that I post news. This is fact and relevant to the forum and I am called a hater. I don't hate Sprint, I just believe they are a horribly run company who provides insufficient level of service to it's customers and that, based on my personal experience, their coverage is overrated. Now they have given customers one less reason to sign up with them. If they keep making these dumb moves, they are going to put themselves out of business or on the auction block possibly to be bought by a foreign country. I hate to see another American owned company fall into foreign hands.

i believe you have a right to have an opinion, but the point they are trying to make is, why keep bringing it up? we know the struggles that our company is going through and most everyone else does too without you having to bring any and every negative remark to this forum.

example: you have a beautiful wife, she gets into a car accident and is horribly disfigured, would you like me to tell her that shes ugly every time i see her? no, i am pretty sure you know i will always think shes ugly every time you see me without me having to tell you...

i know i know, horrible example but it gets the point across.

i will tell you guys this, i really dont care what you have to say most of the time cause well, its just so repetitive and theres nothing i can do or say to you guys on here that will change your mind so i just ignore you most of the time. unless your an actual cust or potential cust that has a question i tend to not pay attention to you guys. i will also tell you this, i am one of the reps/stores that actually DO care and will do anything to help someone out whenever possible. and no evil, i wasnt trying to get personal, it was a JOKE that someone seems to have taken personal. i do occasionally like to laugh instead of slinging derogatory remarks back and forth on an internet forum which will never accomplish anything.

Actually, what he was trying to do is have a sense of humor with you two since nothing else seems to work. Apparently, that also has failed.

Personally, I just wish you and Platypus/Cellenator would take a permanent hiatus from this forum. All you do is clog it up with useless remarks that are mostly wrong anyway.

Let me try.

First, i have to agree with you. Sprint was run pretty bad for quite a while there. The new CEO is making changes, but with a company the size of Sprint, change can take time. Unfortunately once the media gets a chance to report a few bad things about a company, they seem to jump at anything that can be bad news.

Is getting rid of SERO bad? Yes and no. Yes because it was easy to do and a nice cheaply priced plan. No because that plan is not a real money maker for Sprint. That has been around long enough and abused enough. It's not too much to ask someone to pay a fair price for service and if they don't want to, well then they should have taken advantage of SERO when it was available.

Cost doesn't matter. Coverage doesn't matter. Needing Sprint for your job doesn't matter. What does are cool phones and a wireless company that isn't losing money every quarter since that reflects on their inability to make you look cool. Besides, look at all the complaints. Nobody with the other guys ever gripe. The ones who do are obviously lying.

This is all true- however, some folks on this forum love to vent their opinions over and over when everyone here already knows where they stand. It's not just here either, it's every single one. Over in the Verizon chat room, AvgJoe posts at least a half dozen threads per day and all of them are basically: "Verizon sucks."

Bottom line is that nobody cares what any of these trolls think because all they are doing is stirring up discord among the Phonescoop faithful who are here to actually exchange ideas and swap info regarding new...

Maybe one day we can have a good conversation on this forum. I have been gone and still am and check once a month but hardly post as it is the same childish crap!

Mobile phones are good for people when they work. CS is not a big deal and if it is you need to get real. How many times can you call them to make it a big deal. I want service, features, and price then CS.

Has anyone seen the recent retail poll. People want price over CS. In this day an age who deosn't? And allot of companies credit is junk right now along with most peoples credit.

Sprint is losing the customers that think like people on this board. Sprint sucks and they don't see anything but that. You can have a sprint signal and verizon doesn't and the verizon pers...
