I have had Sprint for about four years now, I dont call in to cst. service, i dnt b!tch about my bill, I get dropped calls sometimes (signal fade) but hey, sometimes it hpns. I pay my bill sometimes on time. Out of the 4 years or so, its been shut off once. But anyway, so the Samsung Instinct is about to come out, and Im not eligible to upgrade until January '09. I would REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LOVE to upgrade and get it, and change my plan to the $70 plan (450 mins plus unlimited everything) or even the Simply Everything plan. But I dnt knw if cst. service or someone at the store would let me. I really dont mind signing another contract, but what should I do, or go about it??? Thanx in advance, any advice would b of GREAT HELP!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

actually, since you've been such a loyal customer,if i were you,i would call customer service, and tell them to transfer you to TELESALES,they are the people who can actually up your upgrade eligibility date, espectially since you've been with sprint for a while, and dont get hotlined often

Ms Sprint, I applaud you effort to help Sprint's customers, but PLEASE GIVE THE CORRECT INFO, This is ONE of the many reasons why Sprint is "bleeding customers info is given to Sprint's customers. Thanks.

no corp store will give you an upgrade that early. call retention and just ask, be nice how you say and dont be a jerk.I saw them do it for someone today and they werent eligible for anything. and yes you will renew.

Thanx. Ok, yeah that sounds like a plan ๐Ÿ˜ฒ . I might just call and ask for telesales then, I dnt want to come off as rude if I ask for retention. Its a good idea though. Im not an argumentative person, so i'll be nice about it. But i'll ask for retentions if anything, but I wont do it in a bad way. i dont mind the contract, just as long as I upgrade and change my plan, ive been going over my 1000 txt msgs. LoL. If my research is right, I think the Instinct may come with GPS, which will come in handy for when I go on my road trip later this summer!! ๐Ÿ˜Ž When I get the Instinct, I will have come a long way, Ive had the samsung A660, then the Sanyo PM 8200, currently I have the Samsung A900.

You may be eligible for the full rebate, and not even know it. If you are enrolled in Sprint's NKC or White Glove program, you are eligible for the full rebate (White Glove). If you are NKC, you have to go through the NKC department (via phone).
DO NOT call TeleSales to ask for an early upgrade, or upgrade code (RFLOF23). TeleSales, for the most part can ONLY take orders for Upgrades, new acts, accessories, and devices. 8 times out of 10 (my personal experience), you'll get some outsourced rep, taking our order.
You can call Care, or go to your local store, and have a rep look at your account to see if your a White Glove member, or NKC.
If not; calling the retention department, may be the best source. I know there's going to be accounts, ...

Not too sure what the NKC stands, but I do know you would be eligible for the $150 off, and mail in rebates, up to $200. You can PM me with your number, and I'll check to see if your White Glove, or NKC.

you cant just "call" Telesales and ask for it. if they check and your eligible for $75, thats what theyre going to tell you is thats all you qualify for. they CAN NOT change your rebate eligibility. if you qualify for $0 or $75 thats all they'll be able to take off the retail, because thats all the system allows them to do. if youre eligible for the $150, they can oftentimes match the Web Special. now, since youre a customer for 4 years, I wouldnt be surprised if you were automatically enrolled in White Glove. with the White Glove program, youre eligible for the full discount of $150 ONLY on your primary line of service. We had a training on this about a month ago. but yep, Retentions would be a good idea for your situation. However I wouldn...

The white glove program sounds nice. i did see on the bill that i get an extra credit off my bill in addition to my F.A.N. Discount i get bc of the company I work for. Its not much, not more than a dollar per package i have on my line, but it helps. i dnt think thats what it is though.

๐Ÿ‘€ yes there is a very good one out there right now for i-den users that wish to come to sprint, $175 plus and additional $75 off the phone for just a 1 year agreement.

Yup!

I believe there will be good ones also for customers wishing to upgrade to the Instinct.

There will be MAXimize credits for some customers wishing to upgrade who qualify for the HUP 23+ discount.

And there will also be MAXimize credits for some customers wishing to upgrade to the Instinct who only qualify for the HUP 13-22 discount.

I don't know what the stipulations are for customers to qualify for these discounts, so I would suggest to the OP to go to a corp owned store on June 20th (actually, probably a few days after that since our iRMS System is always up to date [being sarcastic]) and ask a rep if he/she is one of the lucky ones who are qualified for these MAXimize discounts. And if so, what the price would be for him...

Please do not tell people to call retention to get free or extra discounted stuff. There are already more than enough people fishing for discounts and it is really easy to tell when that is actually what is going on.

Thank you OGfish. If it's not something you're willing to do yourself (advance the upgrade) why send them to another department? It's just bad form all around.

if someone else can call and get an upgrade when they are not elgible yet, other people should be able to also, i would call and complain about that. because thats not right if someone gets favored and other people don't.

That's just it Pink, it's not just a blanket answer. There are multiple variables that go into it, that I can't even begin to explain, but the most important thing is how valuable of a customer you are. Most of the time, they won't and can't advance the rebates, on the off chance they can, it is normally a few months, and even then there is NO way to get a mail in rebate, so if you're looking at a PDA you are going to spend a 100 dollars more for having it a few months earlier.

Secondly, the only people who have any real power to do it are retentions/cancellations. And if you feel the need to abuse the system so that you can have the "it" phone a few months early then I don't really think sprint needs your service. Fact of the matter ...

Ms Sprint was just pawning off the issue as Yean said. The customer is not elligable for a rebate, and they need to wait just like everyone else who isn't elligable.
