QUICK QUESTION BOUT NEW LINES.....
If you don't want to buy the instinct for 450 retail without a contract, can you just add a line to your account and get the phone for the discount price and then cancel the line within 30 days and still keep the phone if you paid for it or will they make you pay the retail price if you decided to keep the phone and cancel that line?...
are you able to do that?...because theres noway in hell im paying 450 for that phone, i have the pink centro right now.
You can pull that trick if you bought your phone from an indirect dealer (cause sprint has no way of knowing that you didnt return the phone) provided that they dont make you sign a 6 month agreement that most in my area require now. That states that you agree to keep the service for a min. of 6 month and return the equipment if you cancel within the trial period, otherwise that company will bill you a $XXX amount as "Equipment Reimbursment"
example #1. you buy at indirect dealer, you return to the indirect dealer to return the phone to cancel
example #2 you buy from a sprint store, you return equipment to the sprint store and cancel
either way they will tell you to return the equipment to the store that you purchased it from cause when we return it, it asks if we want to deactivate the device, which will in turn will make sure that the equipment is returned.
so please dont try to "beat" the system cause you will pay $300 for the phone upon activation then cancel without equipment return...

Sprint will not try to charge you for the phone if you get it from a dealer and then cancel. The dealer however will either want the phone back in brand new condition or the balance of what you paid for the phone. I had a customer IRATE at the letter they got from our agent corp. office saying they were being sued for $400-some odd dollars for a mogul they had already paid for. when they bout it from us, they did just what you are talking about earlier. bought from a dealer and then canceled the line and put the mogul on the old line and kept the phone.
he claimed he had returned that phone to sprint and said he was going to call his lawyer. As he pulled...

It's a bit surprising you haven't been banned already for this sort of thing...
Anyway.. You will end up paying more if you try this. Sprint isn't supposed to cancel the line within 30 days without the phone being returned. If they did then the 3rd party dealer will bill you for the discount on the phone and usually extra. You will waste your time and money so it's better to buy it legitimately instead of attempting to defraud the store and carrier.
