you really need to have link(s) if you're going to post things like that.

Also, I'd be shocked since Sprint is on CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM.

Well, here's a link from the Kansas City Star. The article is dated March 6, so this rumor's probably been swirling over the last month. Of course, with Sprint valued the way it is, there are takeover rumors all the time, so read into it what you will.

Owner of T-Mobile may buy Sprint, analysts say

Sprint Nextel may be a takeover target, according to one of the nation’s largest investment banking firms.

Deutsche Telekom, owner of T-Mobile and the world’s sixth largest phone company, may consider acquiring Overland Park-based Sprint to block a price war in the mobile phone industry, analysts for Merrill Lynch speculated in a report Thursday.

Merrill Lynch, which advises its clients to sell Sprint shares, said it is not aware of any acquisition discussions.

This is my opinion. I have seen and responded to this article more times than I care to mention. Can we not get over it? It would be more likely that Abercrombie and Fitch would buy Sprint and all the phone ads would have half naked people holding the phones and the pink phones would only come in XS and SM.

You're article indicates that the OWNER of T-Mobile might buy Sprint, analysts say....

I doubt they would merge into one network, however.

I just don't see a healthy combination of CDMA/GSM networks anytime soon. Maybe in 10 years.
