Sprint Vision Packs Demystified
I am trying to understand the Vision packs currently offered by Sprint.
To have Power Vision do you have to have an EVDO capable device?
I have a LG 535 (1XRTT), is it capable?
Thanks.
Besides, the Sprint phone lineup over the years has left a lot to be desired in my opinion.
I have the Vision Pack, but wasn't sure if I was supposed to have the Power Vision Pack (or even capable of having it, long story).
I was checking out my "Channel Listing" and saw that I get some channels included with my vision plan.
I see that can buy some, but was thinking some of them should have already been included, but I think that's only if I have Power Vision.

I must admit PTIers, when Fast Follower and I began this blog it was not our intention to slam Sprint on a weekly basis, but this just gets better and better…
Beware of the PowerVision scam. Today I went to purchase a Xmas present for my daughter. She really wanted Sprint’s Fusic phone. Simple, right? You go to the Sprint store, pick out the phone, take advantage of the upgrade discount, and walk out, right? Wrong!!
I went right to the Fusic section, told the rep what I wanted and then the fun began! She pulled up the account. Well, my daughter has had her phone for 18 months so she doesn’t qualify for any of the upgrade discounts, understandable, I...

Yeah i typed exactly what you put for your subject on google and got the same article you posted from december 24th 2007. you copywriter! 👿
🤣
Google can search the future!
we all charge act fees, we all dont let you upgrade your phone every three months.
yes, powervision phones ARE different but we still have NON-POWERVISION phones too. you say your daughter doesnt need all that, THEN DONT GET HER THAT PHONE. go buy an mp3 player, a digital camera, and get a basic phone.
and yes you cant use the "OLD" vision if you get a powervision phone, and for the ppl that dont understand, go buy a diesel truck and complain cause you cant still put gas in it.

You have to admit, if you weren't in the industry, this requirement would seem a bit odd.
Like the author pointed out, if your not even in a Power Vision area you will be falling back on the standard vision but paying extra.
Paying extra for services you won't even fully utilize never makes sense. Isn't that one of the main arguments against rollover?
As for me, it is my understanding that because I chose not to purchase a new phone at the time I renewed my contract (selection leaves much to be desired)...

There is nothing odd about that. The problem is that ADULTS act like they don't know how to or can't read the *BLEEEP* T&C(terms and conditions). It would also help if you did a little research and asked some questions if you don't understand something before you sign up for the service.
Oops! Correction...its T&C.
What is the purpose of being on a Power Vision plan if you are not located in a Power Vision area?
You don't have to get a Power Vision package if you don't have a Power Vision phone or if its not available in your area. Sprint does offer reg Vision plans. You know what, you are making my head hurt. What do you not understand? Its all very simple to me. 🤨

Could you possibly be more inconsistent with your answers and still not understand how customers can be confused?

So which is it if you are have a Power Vision phone in an area without Power Vision?

I guess it doesn't take much to make your head hurt 🤣

what is so hard to understand....
If Power Vision is not the same as Vision, why do they cost the same? Isn't this another example of people paying more for less when they have standard vision?

What's so hard to understand? In the words of Nine Inch Nails:
Bow down before the one you serve
You're going to get what you deserve
Bow down before the one you serve
You're going to get what you deserve
Head like a hole
There's no control

Yeah... no inconsistencies there at all.

You do have to get a Power Vision package (if you want connectivity) even if Power Vision is not available in your area and you have a Power Vision phone.
You were wrong about that and my attempt to resolve your incorrect information with Powerup's correct information is what has partly led to your confusion.

Poweredup answered my questions.
There is nothing you are missing.
It says specifically ON THE FORM, phone must be activated at time of purchase.
i'd be glad the rep informed you of all of this, instead of letting it be a surprise.
If you upgrade to the PowerVision phone, you cannot use a Vision plan. If you want to keep your old Vision plan, Sprint still offers many new, nice Vision phones. (ie- Katana II & LG Rumor are the ones I would recommend.) Think of it like this. If you had a truck that ran on unleaded fuel, and bought a new diesel truck, you couldn't continue to buy unleaded gas just because it is cheaper. PowerVision phones require PowerVision service.
Now, a store rep CAN sell you a phone without adding the PowerVision feature, to the best of my knowledge. For him to tell you that was wrong, but the idea behind it is so you can try the service for a month to see if it is something you will enjoy and use. There are lots of benefi...

Why is the Power Vision a requirement in locations where Power Vision is not available?
POWER VISION, also $15, is upgradable.
For $5, you can add the music, TV, or Navigation packages. If you combine those three options yor get the Ultimate pack for $25 total, or the Vision Pro package for $30 which adds Unlimited Text Messaging to any network, not just Sprint as other carriers' "unlimited messaging" is only to their own network.
