WHat does the DLX have that M1 doesn't? I'm just wondering if a phone with external antenna would be better?

it will have an SD slot so that will be better, if you're havin reception issues i don't think an antenna will solve your problem, worth a try but i doubt it...try going old school maybe get yourself a sanyo 7500 that was the best RF phone i ever had.

I thought the external antenna would pick up signal better? Like the Sayno 8300 series? or that old candy bar phone they had that had amazing battery.

Why would a SD slot make any difference?

well for me the 1gig cap was not enough, i like being able to take out my memory and not be capped to 1 gig...as far as it being better reception wise im sure it will be on par with your M1 so that probably won't solve your problem...yeah it's possible try one.

Yeah if you want to have to resort to that thing, that's your choice.... you know it just doesn't make sense to do so to me, if recepton is such a issue why not just try another provider,,ebay that MI and ditch sprint.

But we looked into AT&T, how much would it be for us to get unlimited text, pic, web 2 lines?

I dunno I hate ATT/GSM I was talking verizon or another CDMA carrier in your area. verizon has unlimited text on family plans for 30 bucks which includes pix and texts. that is the plan my wife and i have 1400 mins for 89.99 plus 30 bones for unlimited text.

But we not a fan of VZW here, they limit everything you can do with your phone unlike sprint and AT&T

What stuff be specific, you see there are allot of misconceptions that you can't do sh*t with verizon phones that simply is not the case, for years ppl have been runing around here saying verizon cripple this cripple that, i have the Q on verizon with full OBEX and everything works fine....now if you're talking about verizon not allowing streaming video, that i can understand but you don't use that on your M1. you can get any pics or Mp3 as ringtones to verizon phones etc easy...so what is it exactly that you fear you won't get using verizon service??? i might be able to tell you otherwise...it's a pic your poison game there is good and bad about every carrier...but to me it sounds like you are having reception issues with sprint, so what is...

Well verizon has similar sites, so i don't think you'll be disappointed, look im not trying to pitch verizon here it's obliviously your choice you just need to find a provider that gives you proper reception...good luck man.

Hey, sorry to butt into the conversation here, lol. Sprint & Verizon offer about the same things, only thing that Sprint might have that Verizon wouldn't have is the speed of their vision(Internet). As far as phones, Snuggles, if you are gonna go with Sprint, I would HIGHLY recommend the Sanyo 8400. It's got all the capabilities that you should need in a phone, it's got great reception, & out of all the phones that Sprint provides, I would put it at the top. Just so you know that I'm not just some random guy, I work in an escalation dept for Sprint, & I give out phones all the time, so I have to know which ones are good or not, otherwise customers will be calling in again to get another replacement. I personally don't really like a whol...

I don't know your zip code, so I couldn't say. You can always check it at the Sprint coverage tool:
http://coverage.sprintpcs.com/IMPACT.jsp?covType=spr ... »

M1 does have pretty good signal quality, couldn't say if it's any better/worse than the 8400(probably more opinion than fact in most cases), but if it shows on there that you have good coverage, I'd say try *2 + talk; then state PRL. That helps with roaming, which can help your coverage. If that doesn't work, then you should most likely take the phone into a local Sprint Repair Center to have it looked at to see if there...

I did *2 and then said PRL and it just wanted to send me to customer service, isn't there an automatic roaming updater like Alltel has?
Also Alltel has a *18 which clears out memory of the phone.

I haven't heard about the phones auto-updating, but I know that if you take the phone into the Sprint store, they should be able to do the update there.
