I had an older gentleman come in just a moment ago with an old Samsung 840 complaining that when he is with boss at work he will get multiple calls in a row from a number that displays as 000-000-0000. I checked his call log and the number is in there multiple times. The older gentleman insisted that someone was watching him from the camera on his phone and then calling him from this number because they know he is not supposed to have a cell phone at work. Although I know this is impossible I have never seen a number show as 000-000-0000 would unavaible numbers possibly show as this? The older gentleman said he has never attempted to answer because they only call when he is with his Boss... could this possibly be the product of interference ...

It can be possible if you're doing a caller id spoof with spoof cards. Real cool spoof. Some state and govt dept may have a caller id as well.

Think Crank Yankers, only automated. Most of these are pre recorded prank call messages that you can purchase online and specify a destination number. The joke/spoof computer then calls the destination number and displays the number that the "call" is originating from as all zeros, ones, etc.

So potentially it could be a coworker on the web spoof calling this guy when he is in the boss's office trying to get this old dude fired? I see....

Hi All,

While I will be moving to Sprint in July when my VW contract is up. I thought I would respond to this message. i too get this number quite often and never answer it. I dont think its my boss I'm more afraid that it is some kind of scam that some gets your phone number to do God knows what with. In addition I get another really weird number 529-982-873507. No this is not a typo, there are too many digits. I even looked up area code 529 it doesnt exist. Weird huh? 👀

52 is the country code for mexico. and then there's a 10 digit number behind it, so it is most likely a call from mx.

Ohhhh, check you out!! Thanks for the info. Since the phone automatically puts in a dash every three numbers it looks funny. But this makes sense, thanks again.

Do a google search on caller id spoof cards. Real cool, you change your caleer id number to what ever # you want, and change your voice to a female, male, tone, etc. Some one has a demo posted on YouTube. Go to YouTube and search for spoof card.

FYI:Caller id spoofing allows you to listen to anyones voicemail (any carrier) if the person doesn't have a voicemail passcode set up. Only if I could ip spoof, oh well, there's always phishing. LOL.

That's more of a static ip. You're truly anonymous if you can bounce through Brazil, and I believe Africa. Not too sure of Africa, but Brazil for sure.

There is a service people use to create false caller ID info. This could be the case. Have tech support do a trace-back. They will be able to see if the number is real, faked, or an error.
I don't work for Sprint, but I know of the problem.

Please DO NOT CALL TECH to have them look up a number. Tech support is for technical issues with your phone, NOT an information service. There some web sites you can do phone look-ups. I don't believe etch support has the ability to "trace-back". Corp security does.

i had a few calls from this number a few weeks back, and when they finally called me at a time that i could answer it, it ended up being my utilites provider. they wanted money from me. i thought it was kinda funny, cause,

1: they aren't in portland and '503' is a portland area code

2: i couldn't call them back to find out who they were and get my debt settled.

at anyrate... it might be something like that, or like others have suggested, it could be a spoof card. 😕
