😲 Does anyone know if ALLTEL will upgrade it's businees line of pda phones? I have tried almost every carrier this year. Alltel has the best reception in my house, especially in my basement where my office is.

I've seen the lineup of phones that Alltel offers, and check on it quite frequently and have never seen their business-type PDA phones. As far as using Alltel for business use, their network is mostly AMPS 800, which wouldn't help out in the business field, unless you're saving notes to your phone or sending text messages.

In order for Alltel to offer PDA phones, their network would require a CDMA 1900 frequency to offer 100% digital coverage, like for high speed data the unlimited data usage which a PDA phone would require. If you are close to out of contract, I would suggest looking at Sprint, Verizon, or Cingular for your business needs.

😎
You can use most PDA or Blackberry as long as they are CDMA. The phone will work, usually text messaging as well. But the other features will not. You just have to get the Alltel PRL into the phone.
The Alltel Blackberry should be out in April (as last I heard, it keeps getting pushed back) I believe beta-testing has already started.

the problem with Alltel offering business class devices is that Alltel doesn't have 1xRTT on most of its network which makes it hard to use the data based features on the cell phone.
