Can anyone confirm wether or not nextel charges a fee for porting your number to another carrier? I've gotten different answers from different people. I've heard that they charge 30 bucks or something like that?

I am currently without contract after being with them for over 2 years and looking to switch to cingular.

Ok i am posting this on the top 5 carriers forum..... If i am starting new service... Why should i consider Nextel for my service? What makes Nextel better then the rest? And What makes Nextel unique(meaning what do theyhave that nobody else has)?

Im a light user on minutes but sometimes i use a little more than normal (normal=500-600) but i am a heavier data user.....what can you do which company do you suggest is best

Rumor around here is once the Sprint NEXTEL merger is all said and done they were doing away with the ptt service. Is there any truth to this or in fact just a rumor????

Is mandatory that nextel cc does not give their customers their account numbers or was that care agent just being rude to an existing customer.?

Yes...this is going to be like a bad breakup! I have had Nextel for 2 years and will miss them dearly. However, here in far Eastern North Carolina you either fly with USCC...or you get used to seeing "NO SERVICE". I have recently moved and live 40 miles away from the closest Nextel coverage area. Anyone know any tricks, clauses, etc to get out of my contract without paying this rediculous fee? In my eyes I paid them for cell service, and it's not my fault they can't cover an area where I'm free to move to. However I know I have to convince Big Yellow of this.

well that was very expected, especially be me, that sprint would eliminate the potential problems from US wired by buying them out. like i said in my posts, i have expected them to do that for a long time. this way it will make the process smooth again, since US wired was the only sprint affiliate to sue to stop the lawsuit, remember nextel partners doesnt want to stop it.

so, sprint took care of its affiliate and nextel will do the same thing in order to make this merger process flow smoothly.

seems to me that my theory was correct, and i thank you all, cept muchdrama, for our wonderful conversations on the whole topic.

fyi, there shareholders vote on july 13th for the merger.

How do you think the lawsuits (US Unwired vs Sprint & Partners vs Nextel) will affect the merger? Does anyone think it'll go away quietly prior to FCC approval (payout) or wait till the companies merge and then get hit so they can start their Sprint-Nextel endeavor in debt?

No unl DC between phones on same acct and no M2M mins on them either? What is the best plan (shared/2phones) they offer? OR! Is it easier to get two phones, same acct, with individual plans?
