T-Mobile Service is BAD....NO, ITS HORRIBLE!

I'm taking T-Mobile to small claims court as they sold me service in an area where there is no service (Bastrop, TX). One can't make calls anywhere in the downtown area of Bastrop.
I called T-Mobile, sent them certified letters and they would do nothing to remedy it. When I canceled they wrote me I'd still have to pay a termination fee. Don't get in the crutches of T-Mobile, they're horrible and lack in customer service and service area as well. If you're like me and get a cancelation fee, just take them to small claims court. Its cheaper and sends them the message you won't be taken advantage of.

Maybe think that it's 14 days of their choosing?

And I guess over a period of 14 days you couldn't determine that the service didn't wor...

I WAS LOOKING AT THE PERSONAL COVERAGE CHECK AT TMOBILE.COM AND TYPED IN BASTROP, TX AND IT SHOW THAT THEY ARE COVERAGE IN THAT AREA πŸ˜‰ . BUT THAT ITS FAIR! MIXED IN WITH GOOD. ALSO I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT TMOBILE DOES NOT SELL THERE PHONE AND SERVICE TO ANYONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE COVERAGE IN THERE AREA! πŸ‘Ώ

Just get ready to get clobbered in court when Tmo tells the judge that they have a 14 day trial period where you never lodged a complaint!

I don’t believe you, if you have no coverage in your town, T-mobile would not sell you service, next if you call them and tell them you have no service they will not charge you early termination fee, and what were you doing in the 14 day grace period.

Your word against theirs. And I agree with everyone else. Why didn't use take advantage of the 14-day trial period. By the way, what phone do you have?

Stop trying to take money from T-Mobile for your greed.

You said "they're horrible and lack in customer service" RIIIIGHT here take a look at this artical http://www.t-mobile.com/company/2004awards/de fault.asp?WT.mc_n=JDP_index&WT.mc_t=OnsiteAd

Jd power isnt one of those things that some one wins for sure this accutally one of those things that if you dont meet the standards then NO one wins. So maybe you should lower your tone and check your facts before you call customer care.

Unlocked or locked shouldn't make any difference at all.

umm yeah it does..have you seen the specs for some phones...some lack the right network...example..lets say you use nokia 8890...cool phone but only 900/1900..well great you have one good band but what if you are in an 850 market and now you dont have service...or if you have 850, 900, 1800 like some unlocked cingular or att phones...well if you are in 1900 market then your out of luck as well...always try for a quad band 850, 900, 1800, 1900..1800 and 900 are for over seas so they are not as important unless you are a world traveler but in the future with 3g we may see even a phone with 5 or 6 bands..so tmobile may have a network just for data and not voice and you can surf the web on your phone while having a conversation...cool huh πŸ™‚

ummm I agree with littlefuzzbear, the original person is talking about T-mobile not Cingular which T-Mobile at this time still operates in the 1900 band. Therefore, locked or unlocked is inmaterial to this conversation.

I disagree. They added tons and tons of new roaming coverage. 850mhz. nearly 40 percent more coverage.
Not having a phone with 850mhz in many areas will get you less reception. It's really not a unlocked vs. locked phone but whether the phone can recieve 850mhz coverage. 850mhz can be important now.

"Several roaming agreements have been signed with various operators, most notably Dobson, Cingular, Western Wireless, Centennial, EDGE, and RCC, T-Mobile's senior vice president of Engineering Operations Neville Ray told BetaNews.

"We've secured this year effectively all of the 850 footprint that was out there," he said. "There may be some incremental increas...

Good luck buddy, you don't have a case. Granted I don't know all your conversations during your review with the T-Mobile CSR but here's what you have against you

1) Per your contract, you have a 14 day trial period where you can cancel the contract at no liability to you. (By the way, just about everyone mentioned this to you so it should be no shock)

2) If there was a legitimate reason such as no service in your region, T-Mobile would do everything in their power to confirm this and even help you for this before canceling the contract with you. If they are canceling the contract with you and are requiring for you to provide a termination fee, the burden of proof remains with you. T-Mobile under consumer law has provided you, the co...

Thats all fine and dandy..and what all the other guys is true..your screwed since you ignored the 14 day trial period. and just on a side note...if you do decide to actually go through with it and try and take them to court...it wont do anything but cost you time and money..one reason being that T-Mobile can afford a much better lawyer than you im sure...another reason being that if you bother to actually READ your contract you would realize that by signing it you have agreed to settle with T-Mobile out of court in the event that something like this may occur...that thing is iron clad...you might as well just pay the fee's and get on with your life... 😎

The contract is not iron clad but with a signature, is a binding contract and the terms are accepted at the time of signature. Yes very similar to what I said MrBoo. The guy doesn't have a case nor will probably get a lawyer to take on the case for he was negligent in reviewing a binding contract (as soon as you sign it, it becomes binding). Small claims court you don't need a lawyer but I wouldn't be surprised if T-Mobile counter-suit to recover court fees and retaining their law firm for litigation.
