WHAT HAPPENED TO THE t-MOB 7290
I am shopping for a t-mobile 7290 without a contract extension and i was looking on ebay. somebody just listed 10 with new activation/extensions only and said that is the only way they are allowed to sell it. I checked on the T-Mobile website and the 7290 is no longer listed!

Possibly the reason you ran into the new/extention only is that the phones were just relased this past week I believe to all sales channels from being sold only through business sales and national sales...They might not have the inventory yet alloted to sell without contract. You can get one through customer care with, or without contract as long as you already have a service plan. They're available.
