Well, I just signed-up with T-Mobile today. Was so looking forward to what I thought was going to be good service. I got a Motorola V-180, due to I wanted a tri-mode with both European bands and no camera phone. I'm also a Verizon customer as well...which has worked very well for me, but wanted a more "global" phone, since I'm planning a few trips to Europe next year.
Got the phone home, and little or no signal in my apt. Barely 1 bar or none at all. That will not do...for I have no landline. Can't imagine going outside to the street on a rainy day to make a phone call! Signal is an issue in my apt, for sometimes I have issues with my Verizon phone, but most of the time (95%) calls go through. Was planning on using the 2-phones sid...

why not cancel since you are within the buyers remorse, and try cingular, their buyers remorse is 30 days, try cingular see which one is better and weigh your decision from there, i would say its a device issue, i have a samsung E715 and have no reception issues anywhere in the bay.....i personally LOVE samsung phones, maybe you should try one of those, the E105 is comparable to the v180, although it does not support the 1800 band, if you really wanted the 1800 band you could maybe get this phone

Thanks Temp, you've always been a big help!! I will try the E105 this weekend to see if that work's better. If it does, then I'll look into ordering the tri-band Samsung. If not, then I'll cancel on Monday to be within the cancellation period. Thanks again!!

Oh, also this morning on my way to work, I even noticed I was barely getting 1 bar...and this was in the street in front of my house...so going outside wouldn't help that much! Must be the area of Oakland I live in.

Hhmmmmm, maybe he means "Thats Tmobile for ya" as in yep, they go the extra mile for ya. They have nice phones, great service and the best customer service anywhere.
We had a guy come in with a problem with 2 Mot v180's, did a coverage check and he was great. We contacted out rep and he forwared the complaint to the engineers who actually drove through the area and did a hands on coverage check because ONE person had a problem.
What other company will do THAT for ya.
So yeah, Thats T-Mobile for ya!!!!!

If I were you I wouldn't bother with the E105. It's a great little phone, but it happens to be one of the weaker signal phones that T-Mobile offers. I don't know what your preferences/budget is for a phone, but either the Motorola V300 or V600 seem to be strong signal receivers. The recent batches of V300s seem to be free of glitches, and I actually haven't heard one bad thing about T-Mobile's version of the V600. They may have been the last carrier to release it, but they seem to have gotten it right in the long run. Otherwise, Nokias are always a safe bet for reception.

Beleive it or not my friend, I actually know what I am talking about. The E105 IS a great little phone, but it is weak on reception. Motorola has gotten its act together recently, and both of those phones have been very dependable recently. By the way, the E105 came out before the E715, so technically the E715 follows in IT'S footsteps, although the reception is better. I haven't really checked out the E315 yet, so I can't tell if it has better reception strength than the E105.

as do i (not saying you dont), i am aware that the 105 came out after, yet the 105 is like a baby brother and the 315 is like a middle brother to the 715, i have not had any issues with samsungs in norcal (whe...

In terms of coverage issues. Please report this to Customer Care and request that a Trouble Ticket be placed via the ICM (Inteactive Coverage Map). Every morning engineering receives a report on where customers are encountering issues. This helps address individual cell issues (repair, optimization, upgrade) as well as potential future sites. fyi Using a V600 with no problems, in fact that is the modem this is being sent by.

I'm weeeeaaaary still of the motorolas. Though they are making one heck of a valiant attempt to fix their smudged name in cell phones, I will stick to the side of nokias or samsungs for now, which is too bad because I really do like them. They pack the style, features, and options I like in a phone, they just arent dependable. I had the V300 which was garbage from day 1 (and as employees we don't get any buyers remorse), shelled out another couple hunderd for a V600 which was the same thing different color...moto freeze, starts playing random tones, indicated good signal but dropped calls left and right...I finally sold the bug for $75 to my bosses wife. Now, broke and moto-less I'm using my old trusty samsung R225 and STILL after 2 years h...

Actually, you are mistaken. The E715 was first, followed by the E105. Also, I have both phones and the reception is excellent on either one. The E315, which I have demoed, is a very cool phone (if you like the E105 with a camera and video recording). Otherwise, nothing else really stands out.

😁 I think you are wrong. The E105 came out before the E715. I know this for a fact, cause I wanted the E715 since it was announced by Samsung. Everytime I called Cust. Care, they said the next phone to come out was the E105. I said I thought the E715 was next, they said no. After about one or two months then the E715 came out last year in Nov. 2003, thats when I renewed my contract.

😁 The E715 launched on Nov 12. 2003 not Oct. 30, 2003. Thats when I bought it on the launch date! I was waiting for the phone, and I kept asking Cust. Care, thats how I know!

😁 Well, as a valued Customer, You are Wrong! I know that for a fact. Also, I just called Cust. Care, and they confirmed it, The E105 came out before the E715 last year. The E715 launched in November, 2003, for your info. Since you think I am wrong look into your T-Mobile database that shows launch dates! Thats bad that a customer knows more than a T-Mobile Worker! HA-Ha! 🤣 🤣 😈

My apologies to all I challenged. I was almost certain the E105 came out after the E715, but I was very much mistaken. Thanks for putting me in my place. 🙂

WoW! Very impressed here! 😁 That took courage & guts! Good Job! 😎

Don't correct me unless you actually know what you are talking about.

😁 Your right, read my response to the one you replied to about saying you were wrong. I know cause I bought the phone on Nov. 12, 2003, when it was officially launched! The E105 was launched before the E715. Before the E715 was available in T-Mobile direct stores, I asked a indirect dealer did he have it, and he said "No, you must be talking about the E105, I have the E105 if you are looking for it." I said "No, cause I know about the E105, it doesn't have the camera that the E715 has." He felt Stupid! 🤣
