Moving into A new Era

Hey all,

I currently work for a autorized agent, and have heard some interesting things on what Cingular has up their sleeves for the upcoming months. I'm not going to give all the details out, but rumor has it to expect PTT...Nationwide M2M...and the merger with AWS with in the next 4 months. Of course all this is hearsay so far......but if its all true, Cingular will be Spanking the rest of the cellular world. I know that Verizon and Sprint already have PTT and nationwide M2M, but with the customer base of AWS at Cingular's use....and the added spectrum, I forsee Cingular hitting everyone with lowered pricing and cheaper pricing on high end phones as well as the above mentioned services/ features. It has come to the point that most mark...

Is Cingular really buying out ATTWS? If so, when will the takeover start?

T-MOBILE to CINGULAR!!! Advice?

hi..just wondering, i originally have a sony ericsson t610 from T-mobile that uses a frequency band of GSM 900/1800/1900 Mhz. i had just recently had it UNLOCKED when i cancelled my membership with them and now i want to use Cingular as my new phone service and wanted to activate this unlocked phone. However, i was quite confused about the fact that Cingular only uses GSM 800/1800/1900. Can i STILL activate this UnLoCkED phone for their network? and will it work?

Frequencies

Hey I am trying to find out what GSM bands the following companies use and where.

Cingular
T-Mobile
AT&T

Main reason is I have a friend who has the N-Gage and it simply will not work in Orlando, Florida.

The Sim and Imei are correct and the phone is set correctly in the Cingular System.

Thanks,

Dave

Cingular Wireless Internet

I will be getting a cell phone with Cingular soon and I will probably get the Samsung X427 on the GSM Nation 250 plan.

I have a quick question about the X427 first:

Can you use the basic CSD Wireless Internet with the X427? I am NOT talking about the Wireless Internet Express. I mean the regular $3.99/month Wireless Internet that deducts time from your minute pool.

If so, is the internet access as good as with any other phone and can you access all the sites on Cingular's "Content Providers" list?

Also, I heard somewhere that color screens limit the amount of sites you can view. Is this true?

Thanks.

Cingular in the S.F./E.B, CA. area...

Hi All...
Just wondering how Cingular is doing now in the San Fran/East Bay area of CA. From what I saw a year or two ago, it was having dropped call, busy system issues, but then I read they've made improvements/upgrades and it appears on the maps their coverage has grown. Is it doing better? Or is Cingular still having the same coverage issues. Would welcome any opinions. Maybe considering it for a GSM and global access option in the future. Thanks!

Cingular's Unlocking Policy

I went through hell to get it, but I got the unlock code for a Cingular-locked Sony Ericssson T68. You have to have finished your contract, and tell customer service that you want to take your phone to another carrier in a region Cingular doesn't service.

They'll give you the run-around, but keep pushing them, and after a few days (doing who the hell knows what) you'll get the unlock code for you phone.

Then, it's up to you to figure out how to use that code to unlock the phone.

Possible to use non-Cingular GSM phones?

Am I free to purchase any 850/1900 GSM phone and then bring it to a Cingular dealer to sign up for a plan and activation with their SIM card? I don't find the current Cingular phone offerings all that exciting.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I have a Nokia 9290 that I would like to get working on Cingular. What do I need to do to be able to use the Fax machine part, and dial up an ISP?
