New Tech-Support Caste Arises In India

NEW DELHI — Thanks to widespread outsourcing of telephone-service jobs, a sixth caste has blossomed in India: the Khidakayas, a mid-level jati made up of technical-support workers. "I am happy to be a Khidakaya," said technical-support agent Ranji Prasat, who speaks English with a flawless American accent and goes by the name "Ron" at work. "While we rank below members of the reigning order, those of us responsible for helping Americans track their online purchases and change their account PINs share many privileges not enjoyed by the merchant class below us." Prasat said he expects to marry another tech-support worker.

Roaming charges and supervisors

I don't really understand when a customer calls in to dispute roaming charges .... you go over the map and it clearly states that they were in a roaming area, you explain this ... and they want to speak to a supervisor .... i just got off a call like that ... cust had roaming in an area that wasn't her HCA, i explained all this three time, BAM!! GIVE ME YOUR SUPERVISOR .... why ma'am? he'll tell you the exact same thing!! he's not god, can't flick his nose and expand your calling area 😳

😈 i'm tired and gonna start getting hussy ..... i just got a transfer call from wex .... why the he!! can warranty not give out info on contract end dates .... the rep said because of quality ... the only thing the cust wanted to know was his end date ... too bad the india call center wasn't near the beach

Blue V551 Questions

For those of you familiar with the Motorola V551 can you tell me what kind of battery life I should be getting? I talked to a rep who told me that some of these had hardware problems that suck battery life.

Also, how can I tell if my phone is unlocked? I just upgraded to this phone two weeks ago from ATT/Business, but there's no branding on the handset except an orange "jack" button directly above the green answer button.

Custumer service reps. may be the leading cause to heart failure...

This was suggested to me by a customer who had contacted us over 200 times in one month. He had also documented every rep. he talked to and had a crapload of id's that meant absolutely nothing. He was also well versed in my opening statement as well as many other depts.(I let him rant for 10mins. flat, he never took a single breath...very impressive and I believe it was part of the reason he seemed to be brain damaged.) After having to deny his request for credits(I've no crediting capabilites...so generally I don't offer credits)and researching his acct. every one of us told him generally the same thing.(I found this to be absolutely astounding.) NO! So this poor guy starts trying to appeal to my human emotions which are converted to robo...

Customer Care should be a 1-900 number

Customer's are not able to dial 1-900 #'s from their cell phone's . . . so they would have to dial in from a landline . . . and they would be charged . . . let's say . . . $0.99/minute, which would stop people from calling in for a $0.03 credit and annoying me all day long. Anyone agree ?

Its a funny thing, you know?

This wierd thing happens when a customer calls in absoloutley screaming at the top of their lungs, b*tching and cursing you out like its your fault. You get this sudden desire to help them SOOO much more, right?

I had a gentleman call me the other day. He was previously an AT&T customer and had been registered for OCS. His email adress was still in our system and he was still recieving communications from us, he was irate that this was happening. I had about 3 valid solutions but when I suggested he calm down for a moment so I could present the possible solutions, he started SCREAMING at me. I could not believe how angry he got. I have had customers yell or b*tch at me but never someone screaming as bad as this man. I felt that lack of d...

I love this site!

haha...in my center it sometimes takes forever to get info on sites like this, and so when I found it, i dont think I could have been any happier. Not so much the phone info that it has but the fact that these forums make me laugh. when you sit here all day and wish that you could put penicls in your eyes and it not hurt, you read these things and you cant help but laugh. The b*itching and the fights back and forth make me giggle!!!!! 🤣 😁 🙂 😎

Anyone having troubles with seibel?

i'm not to sure why, but i have had to close and re-open seibel like twice already today and i've only been here for 3 hours! Plus it is taking forever to get from one screen to the next. it's driving me nuts!!! 👿 🙄

sorry if this has been posted my childred were and are on the att unlimited plan for 99.00 although today they were informed if they change phones they would have a different plan is this true if so what are the rest of you doing thanks

the " ORANGE" side of customer care

anybody else ever notice that when you call cingular cus care they always say " well i can't help you" or you have the wrong dep't. but they don't want to transfer you to the right people god forbid. no wonder cingular customer service was at the bottom of the barrel.... and no wonder our customers don't want to migrate over. cause Cingular don't do **** to help their customers or make anything easy for us customer care reps on the old AT&T wireless side 🙄

Ok, I am not a quick typer. Plus when I am navigating 6 windows figuring out people's issues, I barely have time to write my notes.

Now, I have 2 pieces of paper that have to be filled out every day, for every call.

One, I put down the wireless number, and whether 1) I handled it, 2) it was a short call (
