Probably varies by market. The two I know of are Asurion and Lockline. Both are $3.99 a month. Covers repairable damage no charge. Unrepairable, lost, or stolen phones with a $50 deductible. May be different where you live. Hope this helps!

in the west only 2 companies provide insurance--asurion and lockline; you dont have a choice on which company to choose, its based on your area code and prefix. both are 3.99 which cover any problems outside of manufacturers warranty. if the phone has a manufacturer defect you would have to go to a vzw store and have a techy look at the phone to determine the problem--if it is a mft defect then you can get the phone exchanged for a refurbished unit or call the mft to get the phone fixed

also, when you first purcahse a phone you have the option on purcahsing total equipment coverage by either ins company for 4.99 which will extend the phones warranty for 1 year. all this does is enable you to express exchange a phone for free after the 1 y...

sometimes an reseller such as radio shack or car toys will provide their own insurance(and contract).

the 4.99 total equipment coverage extends the waraanty for as long as you keep the phone---> i think, i will call cust service to find this out; either way i think its useless

Yeah But !!!! These phones depreciate faster than a new car in a museum. Usually after a year, maybe two, their only worth $50-$75 bucks on E-BAY. Why would most people even bother to insure a phone, when they have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty, and can possibly upgrade in various schemes such as "New every two" programs?

why? because when they drop their phone in the lake or run it over and they are not eligible for an upgrade;you can take advantage of the ne2 given you dont break your phone w/in 22 months. mft warranty doesnt cover the phone if you run it over.people dont have internet, therefore, for most people e-bay is not the option or its a very risky option

i found out the hard way if you read my prior posts.
